Ultimate Avengers II - Talk Up!

ForeverRed

has left HJU. Not coming back.
So, it's out now today. Anyone plans to get DVD? I'm planning to get DVD today from Walmart. Can't wait to see it tonight after I'm done with Ultraman Volume 1.

Discuss!

I'll state what I said about the movie when it leaked on the Internet, it could've been much better, but it's ten times superior to that pile of **** that was the first film. That was'nt "The Ultimates", or even a JLU worthy interpretation of the Avengers, and no surprise, it comes from Greg "The first season of Evo sucked" Johnson, who clearly learns on the job it seems when it comes to writing new projects, then improving as the series progresses.

First of all, the characters at the least have some sense of conflict, we have the Pyms maritial problem (minus the wifebeating), and we have Cap sparring with the ever generic Fury, and Black Widow, who is compeltly useless except as a brooding love interest who tends to use a tremendous amount of guns on the wrong people, no doubt she'll have a larger role in the third movie given her nature in the comics, and I have little doubt they won't that peice of drama now that she and Rogers are together.

Stark is sadly left out of the loop, with almost all of his storylines taken up by Rogers (especially his relationship with The Black Widow), Stark is left to chew up the scenes himself with some tremendously funny lines and displays a greater depth that make me glad he's getting an animated series and a direct to DVD movie by himself to showcase these traits, only with his own story, the use of the War Machine armour was also an original touch.

The death that occurs at the conclusion of the movie serves a purpose, as there was no way they could continue the characters without completly betraying Miller's comics, so they just got rid of one of them to shake things up and make things more uncertain

The Black Panther I could'nt give a toss about, what's even more ironic is that he barely plays a large part in a movie centered on him, too many storylines and characters overshadow his ascension to the throne of Wakanda and becoming the Panther

The Hulk only made one apperance in the movie, attacking the Chi'tari forces solo, not a part of the team at all for once, and his escape opens up the possibilities for the third movie

The unintentional hilarity of this movie comes from the classic A-Team syndrome of noone dying despite bullets flying everywhere during the Wakanda/Avengers battle, and the stitled bland acting of the VAs, only whom Banner's reallly nails with a sense of "Hey, I care about the character and the story, not the pay cheque", and the fact that Cap's arch enemy, the agent of the Chi'Tari, is still wearing a Nazi Uniform from his World War Two clash with Rogers.

Once more The Ultimate Avengers movies suffer, and the lesson here has only been learned partially

I got DVD and just finished watching the movie. I really enjoyed it ALOT. Awesome action and everything.

Two things I'm lil disappointed about Hulk and Antman.

[hide]1. Hulk... only tiny, small appearance. Oh well. I expect that they will make another sequel.

2. Antman died! :170: [/hide]

Thor rocks, especially Iron Man.

I hope they bring Spider-man in the sequel.

Can't wait to get two dvds of Dr. Stranger and Iron Man Animated movie.

I enjoyed it. I glad they went with an original storyline for this one. Helps open the animated UA world up a bit. But I got to admit some of the chartcters got fucked up.

Agreed. It was better than the first one. I give it a 7/10.

....They did'nt. They just rehashed the first movie's villains, and added a big death scene at the end to "shock" people. There's nothing original or groundbreaking about this at all.
