I think that without the Gokaigers, this movie would've made even more less money at the box office.

I can only imagine how Kyoryuger Vs. Go-Busters will do next year, especially when most people dislikes the Go-Busters.

I don't think the tv shows have been remastered.

Yeah, most of old TV shows were remastered for the DVD release.
Instead of using old, dated telecine of the laserdisc era, they rescanned the film stock preserving better color gamut and progressive scan. Not all Toei series got this treatment, sadly, and it's very obvious to an experienced eye when they didn't.

The problems with older transfers are not all obvious from screenshots, but for comparison's sake, this is how a remastered DVD would look:

I never said that a movie with one sentai team would do worse than a movie with two sentai teams. I think that it all boils down to popularity of a certain team that someone wants to see.

Ok, you're right. I thought you meant Blu-Ray remasters.

We don't know if the rescan was in HD or not, technically the film allows for resolutions even higher than what Blu-ray can do. We know for sure Showa Kamen Rider series were rescanned in HD because of Toei Channel even though they were released non-remastered on DVDs so technically Toei should have resources that are even better than what is available to the public. As for comparisons no, I don't, mostly because at the time that movie was out the situation with raws for older shows was a little bit worse than it is now, I might look into it sometime. The point is, it's hard to judge what's available for Toei just based on what they actually use in production. Sometimes they're just lazy.

Final available box office for Go-Busters vs Gokiager was ¥414,564,593. That puts it ahead of every Vs movie before Gokaiger, but behind 199 Heroes and Vs Gavan.
