Toku Fight Scenes

Those are actually pretty well known terms in the writing world.

Shoichi did remind me of one...but he kicks ass so it doesn't matter.

So does Tendou. He's just such an asshole about it people give him **** for it. ;) That said, I still think he's awesome.

Yeah...Shoichi's actually a nice guy and even though he's super perfect he looks like someone you'd be able to be friends you.

I'm a writer. :P Try this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Sue

Mostly pay attention to any and all parts that say, "ridiculously overpowered/skilled". :P

"Mary Sues" also tend to be characterized as being so perfect, they're non-existent characterwise. Meaning, their character is so blatantly obvious, one-dimensional and very predictable because they have no perceived "flaws."

So far, Tendou is falling just short of fulfilling that last bit. Shoichi, on the other hand, is not a Mary Sue. You want to create characters that are like Shoichi - perhaps a bit of an expert in everything, but you want to stay away from Mary Sues as that leads to rather stiff, predictable, uninteresting, stereotypical plots. Not that using Mary Sues are wrong, they're just not as interesting and dynamic.

I don't call him being a prick a flaw. I call it "dropping the overly humble bullshit". :anime: Then again, I'm a very euphemistic guy.

Tendou isn't perfect though; he may think he is or at least strive to be, but we've seen him lose at things before and he has a lot to learn in areas other than his fights, which I think will happen during the course of the show.

Shoichi is only multi-talented because he had to be. He had to cook and clean and take care of Mana and Taichi all the time, and get them to and from places, and take care of his own personal problems and memory loss, AND save people from getting killed. He didn't care about being perfect, he just put other people before himself and in the process developed lots of usefull skills, both physical and personable. He lost plenty of fights though, didn't always make the best decision, etc. Just because he's good at a lot of stuff, I don't think that makes him a "Mary Sue."

Agito! He'd never win.

I don't know if it'll change, but at this point I've now seen as many episodes of Agito as I have Kabuto, and I have to say Tendou would kick the motherlovin' snot outta Agito.

Now, if this is a, "No way, I like this guy better!" kind of argument, never mind. While I do like Tendou better, I'm basing my judgement off what I've seen the two do in action and how they handle their fights.

Tendou.... FTW. :buttrock:

What's a wussy little Worm compared to those Unknowns Agito fights? Agito could drop Kabuto with a wayward glance. Even if Tendou tried to get salty and Clock Up, Shoichi could just go into Shining Form and his aura alone would melt Tendou's Edward Scissorhands haircut.

Plus, between the two's Rider Kicks, there's DEFINITELY no competition.

This is stupid. First of all, this argument is nerdy as all ****. Second of all, you're comparing Agito to a Rider who's only been a Rider 16 episodes compared to Agito's 49 or so. So yeah....unfair. Bolt, ask yourself if Agito can take Kabuto at sixteen episodes in. I doubt he's got Shining Mode or whatever. But Kabuto still has Clock Up. ;)

Yeah he can, he told me so at the last nerdy Toku convention I went to to discuss these things in detail and watch hentai.
