Toku Fight Scenes

Okay, since it started in the Agito thread, I decided I'd ask:

As much as I like Tokusatsu for what it is, most of the stuff I watch it for I can usually get from other outlets, for cheaper, and usually better. (No one take this the wrong way, 'cause I don't want this topic to get de-railed. If I didn't *really* like Toku, I wouldn't have been watching it and it alone for the past month. :P) The one thing that brings me to Toku that nothing else really has is the fight scenes. Not shitty CGI, and not painfully obvious wire-fu (I'm looking *right* at you, Garo), but real quality choreographed, bad-ass fight scenes. So, I want to know. What has the most awesome, beautiful, kick-ass fight scenes in all of Tokusatsu. You can pick one series, or five, or ten. Just make sure they rock in that one area we all love. :buttrock: :buttrock:

(And if anyone picks Kabuto I'll have Tendou come to your house and Rider Kick you in the face. :P  )

Well, since you're mentioning getting things from other outlets that are usually better anyways, why not just watch a martial arts film or something?

In no particular order:

- Kamen Rider Faiz vs. Kamen Rider Psyga (Paradise Lost)

- Ultraman Alphanse vs. The One (Ultraman The Next)

- Kamen Rider Faiz vs. Squid Orphenock (Episode 5?)

- Guyver I vs. Guyver Zoanoid (Guyver II: Dark Hero)

- Kamen Rider Ichi-go and Ni-go vs. The Shocker Army (Kamen Rider: The First)

- Kamen Rider Faiz Axel Form vs. Centipede and Sea Urchin Orphenochs (Episode ?)

- Evolver 05 [w/his cool Vincent-esque cape] vs. Efreet (Episode 1)

Those are the only ones I can come up with for now...

Zubat, Gavan, Dynaman, Bioman, Changeman, Flashman, Spielban, Dairanger, Ohranger, Kuuga, Agito...that's not to say other shows don't have good fight scenes, obviously, but with those shows I feel like you can find a good action scene in just about every episode -- in and out of suit! Sweet mercy, remember out of suit action scenes?

For me, it's hard to itendify an entire series as having "good" or "bad" fight scenes because all series have had their mix of both, IMO. Certain episodes of a series can have the most bitchin' fight scene ever, then 5 eps later the same series has a fight scene that's just a "WTF" fight scene. If you're looking for "average" or "balance" (i.e. a series that has more good ones than bad, and where said good ones are really good ones), so far I'm really diggin' Kabuto. I've always loved Bioman and Shaider as well. The Guyver vs Guyver Zoanoid fight that Bueno mentions is definitely spot on too!

Gah. *sends Tendou to his house to Rider Kick him*

Okay. I love Kabuto. Its my favorite Toku series so far. Tendou is one of the coolest characters I've ever seen. But the fight scenes suck. 'Cause Tendou is a damned plot device that STOMPS anyone he throws down with. Thus he never extends himself, so all the fight scenes are: "Block, block, block, PUNCH. Dodge, block, dodge, KICK. (And if they're a worm, he takes a Rider Kick on.)" Its fun seeing him stomp people and you can tell he's got some skillz, but it'd be nice to see him....y'know.....USE them.
