Toku Fight Scenes

Would be nice if it was shown more than once. Though, I don't think Kabuto would be able to pull it off the way Hibiki would. Hibiki's seemed like actual training(to an extent), Kabuto seemed more like the stuff you see in hollywood movies, just a minute or two and we can assume they trained for hours.

I agree. And yeah, when I first saw it, I thought I was watching "Rocky" for a moment.

What's a wussy little Worm compared to those Unknowns Agito fights? Agito could drop Kabuto with a wayward glance. Even if Tendou tried to get salty and Clock Up, Shoichi could just go into Shining Form and his aura alone would melt Tendou's Edward Scissorhands haircut.

Plus, between the two's Rider Kicks, there's DEFINITELY no competition.

Seeing Agito in action seems he's more prone to mistakes and then learning from those mistakes. I've seen Uknown's survive and beat Agito's kicks before. So, the only way I can see Shouichi winning is if he gets a Round 2... possibly. But to me, it would almost seem that Tendou would either let it happen or be satisfied that it happened because he would've been integral in helping Shouichi become stronger and learn a lesson.

Round 3 would go to Tendou to remind Shouichi-kun who alone walks the path of heaven and will rule over all. ;)

This is stupid. First of all, this argument is nerdy as all ****. Second of all, you're comparing Agito to a Rider who's only been a Rider 16 episodes compared to Agito's 49 or so. So yeah....unfair. Bolt, ask yourself if Agito can take Kabuto at sixteen episodes in. I doubt he's got Shining Mode or whatever. But Kabuto still has Clock Up. ;)

Oh, I'm more than willing to change my mind if Agito shows more strenght and guile in the episodes to come. For myself... judging the 12-13 episodes of Agito I've seen compared to the 13 episodes of Kabut I've soon, honestly.... Kabuto comes out on top.

And that is what makes Shouichi better, Shouichi never cared about being perfect, he just cared about other people's safety and happiness. Tendou is too full of himself and his preconceived ideas that he is perfect.

I see them as equals but in different ways. Shouichi follows my path of how I like to run this message board. He wants to protect everyone in a place where everyone belongs.

Tendou is all about protecting everyone, but his path is to make those around him stronger by presenting the ultimate challenge. He may be full of himself, but I just see it as supreme confidence that inspires and is meant to inspire. Him saying what a big pimp he is just pushes those around him to become that much better and I love seeing others work hard to become stronger.

And I wonder how much of that sentiment has to do with as you put it, the sluggish, unimpressive fights and "home video quality" in Agito. :rolleyes2: Perhaps if Agito was full of CGI animated fights and Agito lept over tall buildings in Matrix bullet time during a rain storm you'd pick him for the win?

Heh.. pretty much. But I'm quite proud that I'd never let my favorite win, just because he's my favorite. I make a point never to choose someone because of their era, race, or genre or even if they're my favorite. Head to head from the episodes I've seen.... Kabuto has been a more strong, compitent and consistant fighter versus what I've seen out of Agito. And I'm more than willing to change my vote as the episodes go on and Agito shows that he could take Kabuto somehow. But as it goes, Agito is a pretty good fighter, but more of the "learns from mistakes" and fights for the win in the next round. Where Tendou... doesn't make mistakes.

Agito just doesn't come off as tough. Each his wins are earned through doing his best and hard work. Agito wins in the end, but he has to earn that win.

Where Kabuto fights hard and wins hard. So far his mind seems always two moves ahead of his opponents.

That's how I choose who wins.

And if down the line Kabuto ends up showing some improtant weakness and Agito shows some strength... I see no dishonor in Kabuto losing to Agito. They're both still great heroes in my eyes and whoever wins deserves it.

Exactly. But don't forget cards. If Agito had cards, JC would so love him.

Since when have I ever had a thing for cards? :sly: I'd put money on Agito over Ryuki and Blade, tho, so far, I like both Ryuki and Blade better.

Hibiki could also kick Tendou's ass. Hibiki trained a hell of a lot more than one brief scene in the premiere episode -- Zanki would be strangling Tendou with his scarf while Hibiki beat the hell out of him; Ralphie from "Christmas Story" style.

I don't know much about Hibiki, but... from what little I saw, I'd say it just might be possible.

::Spits out Coke:: Sorry, but I'd pay to see that one. LOL.

And yeah, although I love this "nerdy as ****" toku talk, it's getting a bit - "let's gang up on the guy who's just started a series." Let's cool that for a bit. Granted, I am heavily biased towards Agito, but no need to take potshots at Keith. If Keith is STILL sticking to his guns about Agito after the show - although, truth be told, we still have yet to see Tendou's development, then, I'd have to say that I'll still probably respectfully disagree ^_^

Actually before I curb this "nerdy as ****" toku discussion, I have one more nerdy question to ask. Are we "comparing" Tendou vs. Shouichi or straight up Kabuto vs. Agito? Cuz then well, for one, I don't think you can compare Technology vs. Spirituality (take that in the lightest meaning, guys).;)

And hey, I *LIKE* Cellphones. Cellphone guns, changers are NO probs to me :P

I think it's funny/annoying that because I don't call everything in Agito the best ever, suddenly it means that I'm stupid, like style over substance, and don't like Agito at all when none of the above are even close to being correct.

Anyway, Tendou versus Shouichi on a spituatiliy level, based on the episodes I've seen so far.... equal, but different. Shouichi's more the guy I like to be and the path I like to follow. Tendou's the big brother I wish that I had.

Oh... and if I were to poke a little fun at Agito versus Tendo.... at least Kabuto and Zect make it to the scene in time to save some people more often than not. In Agito entire families seem to be getting slaughtered on a regular basis and Agito or G3 seem to at least arrive in time to exact revenge. :anime:

If I had the choice on who were to protect me, I'd rather the guys more likely to kill the monster before it kills me. ;)

Keith, I'm wondering, just what episode of Agito are you on?

Last episode I seen had Agito beat out some scorpion monster that stabbed ya and you'd find yourself dead in 24 hours.

I think I'm on disk 4, which I hope to slow down, because I'd like to allow the Agito experience to last for as long as possible.

That was more my ribbing the fans of CGI-fests like Ryuki and Blade, who have trouble watching older stuff. I just didn't know Agito now falls under "older stuff." That's a double  and :nono:

Anyway, I fail to see this wonderful lesson that Tendou teaches everyone (unless it's the lesson of how to have bangin' hair). Being a complete and utter pud in hopes that someone spineless like Kagami will "do well" is just...no, that's not good. Wait for more episodes of Agito -- see Shouichi's more natural way of inspiring the other characters to be better people. Shouichi's not the kind of guy who wants to stalk and beat someone down because they stole his mackerel.

I think you're missing out on the Biblical allusions the show is making. And really...what, pray tell, can Ashton Tendou possibly teach Jesus Tsugami?

Oh... and if I were to poke a little fun at Agito versus Tendo.... at least Kabuto and Zect make it to the scene in time to save some people more often than not.

That just reflects how good and fixed on their goal the Unknown are, compared to the idiot Worms, who would rather clone Deka Pink than have any sort of agenda.

Even when you're saying, that Shouichi tends to get to the "scene" late, is significant to what's going on in Agito. In Kabuto, since he is the "one who walks the path to Heaven," granted, he's going to be there, almost an omnipresent force. Agito isn't a god. I wouldn't be suprised if Tendou is one (not a god necessarily, but they certainly portray him as such). I'm guessing Tendou's seeming perfection and excellence is relevant to Kabuto's plot, so I will give one thing that it is possible to take Kabuto as being two steps ahead of everyone, probably due to his almost laid-back, supremely - no effort wasted fights, but I'd still say that I don't think I'd mind too much having an Agito or Gills around. G3 - currently is a bit, well -he'll definitely get better. Lol. Poor Hikawa.

I wasn't saying that at all Keith. I think what all of us who love Agito are getting at is one thing, that Agito's fights all mean so much - it's really ridiculous how symbolic every frigging thing is in that show. And this Tendou vs. Shouichi is going around in circles because I don't think you can fully address that question without taking into consideration just how deep Agito is. I'm not trying to force my opinion or make you see my way at all. I dont think the others are either. I think we're all just asking you to keep a mind to the almost bordering ridiculousness of depth this show goes into and demands of the viewer. That's all.
