Toku actor availability

LOL. I can't imagine how the actors/actresses of series like Gokaiger must feel. They would have to do the full 52+ weeks of filming for the main series non-stop while the actors/actresses of Goranger to Goseiger gets themselves only a week or two of filming just to appear for a one or a two episode cameo appearance or filming for their appearances of the 199 Hero Battle movie.

Then all 6 of the actors/actresses of Gokaiger would have to again reappear for the filming of the Go-Busters Vs. Gokaiger movie. Madness, I tell you!
It doesn't even stop there though. Before the series starts they have to give the actors a crash course in action scenes so that they can look somewhat believable when "fighting". They have to hold read-throughs and rehearse every episode, film etc before it can be filmed (not easy in the case of Gokaiger where they are re-writing things almost on the fly in order to accomodate last minute guest stars). They have to film an episode per week for 51 weeks AND voiceover all the action scenes they weren't physically present for AND film three theatrical films (199 Heroes, Flying Ghostship, Vs Gavan) AND net movies, specials etc AND promos, toy commercials etc AND make promotional appearances, have interviews etc for all of the above. On top of all that the actors are usually members of these large entertainment groups like D-Boys etc that will recall them whenever they need their full team for some big event (IIRC the Gekiranger and Carranger tribute episodes were both basically designed to cover for the fact that one or more members of the core five actors was spending a few days doing "group stuff" and wouldn't be available). And the Gokaiger crew didn't have to record their own character songs either like some Sentai do.

Of course most of this also applies for the suit actors too. I sometimes wonder if Seiji Takaiwa has actually had a single day to spend at home in the last dozen years. That man must have the most understanding wife ever.

I'm surprised D2 would let Jun Shison have a whole year as the Red of a Sentai since it leaves him with very little time to do group promotions. I think they made an exception for Yuki Yamada because Gokaiger was the big anniversary series, but since then all other group members have had smaller roles (Takuya Negishi is the lead of Ultraman Ginga but then that's a short show) or in the case of Sho Jinnai took time out of Go-Busters to do other work, which is why there was a run of episodes where Enter didn't appear and/or was only there in monster form. Kei Hosogai did something similar during Gokai's run, I suspect it is a reason why every humanoid villain of the last few years has also had a monster form

They also have to do ADR for the stage shows that run in the summer and rehearse for the shows where they do the physical appearances during the winter. Plus they have the photo shoots and the individual or group interviews that appear on the DVD volumes.

The amount of work that these actors do in a year is staggering and mind boggling.

No doubt. Guess that's what happens when you want to be an actor or an actress in Japan & would like to be involved on something like a Toku show. It's definitely a lot of hard work.

That's why it's kind of annoying when people mock the actors for their physical appearance (The Gosei ones, and now the Kagura ones). It's juvenile at best.

not to mention that they have to wake up at about 3am every morning just to get to the filming site from their homes. on top of that, most recent Sentai and Rider actors/actresses are still JUNIOR HIGH/HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS who still have to show up for class after that!

About the time, is that for real? Was it ever confirmed? Also I thought only like 3-4 a season were still in school while the other one (excluding 6, 7, what have you additions) were adults. Isn't all the Tokyuugers in real life college? I never looked at the ages because the wiki seemed to have like Mio AND Light's profiles but were missing the rest. I'm in need to know. :patriotic:

How is it mocking though. Kagura voice and her hair are the only annoying thing other wise she was okay same with Gosei Black. Red aka Alata looked liked a straight up bitch. he was way too girly even for me. Light on the other hand reminds me of Alata but cuter...and masculine.

Hyde, Moune and Eri were acceptable.

it was stated in magazine scans where they interviewed the cast members. I was also *sort of* friends with Niwa Mikiho (GoseiYellow) during my time in Tokyo thanks to her good memory of remembering new faces and that radio show where fans were allowed to go to the studio to watch every Sunday... back to the topic, she has mentioned waking up at such times in person and even on her blog. I think I've seen a few other Sentai alumni who said so on their blogs as well.

EDIT: Right, Hikari and Kagura's actors are still in school. Tokatti and Mio's actors... well, let's say it's not common to see young actors/actresses in Japan going to college.
