THEY SHUT DOWN MEGAUPLOAD!!!

That may be what will happen. There is still Bit Torrents but from one of those videos that was posted in this thread. The big companies support Bit Torrent to only catch people in the act.

Right now you can feel secure that your files are safe on the Megaupload servers. The FBI is going to keep the files intact so that they can go over them with a fine-toothed comb looking for illegal content - if you had anything copyrighted or otherwise illegal up you should cross your fingers they don’t issue a warrant against the IP address that file was uploaded from. Those who had large stashes of copyrighted movies and music are the most at risk, but it’s not a guarantee, just something you should be aware of.

For the rest of us with legitimate content, for now our content is safe and if Megaupload beats the charges against it the servers will go right back into place exactly as they were before, restoring all of our hard work.

Hm, I got a question. What about the people who used Megaupload, but didn't get an account there? I mean, I'm sure lots of people just used Megaupload for small time purposes without even bothering too remember the links of the stuff they uploaded and only used it a few times.

MegaUpload is gone gone, it affects everyone the same regardless of how they used it.

Our last hope will be torrents if MF dies

better hope they don't shut down torrents too or rather hope the FBI doesn't watch what you're downloading on torrents

They won't be going after the users. It would take far too much resources to go after even one user let alone all of them.
im sure they will go for at least one user. people have been caught downloading things on P2P and torrents. they were just unlucky.

I know that, what I'm asking is in regards to that news story that Aoiblue brought up. Could people who never got an account there, uploaded some files like anime or toku or whatever, and didn't even bother to save the links potentially get in trouble?

Will this affect my school's library because I downloaded like heck from Megaupload at my school's library computer on my external hard drive and most of those things were AKBingo episode, and AKB48 related talk show
