The Toku Unpopular Opinion Thread

I thought Wakana became evil because Isaka had modified her Driver, so she had a much stronger exposure to the effects of the Gaia Memories than she should have had. Did I miss something?

Nope, that's correct.

Specifically, he disables the limiter on her Driver. There's a scene where Ryubee is like "This is intriguing, Isaka, but if you hurt my bb girl in ways that don't involve driving her insane I will not be well-chuffed. :/'

Her not wanting to leave Fuuto did come a bit out of nowhere, but then she had just discovered that she'd been making romantic overtures (and having them returned) at her brother and had very nearly run away with him.

Well that shouldn't have stopped her given that the following year's villain killed his sister because she was about to get married and leave her ...

And the previous year had a movie villain who went evil because her brother abandoned her. And the year before that had a dude who wanted to kill his brother and marry his girlfriend.

Essentially, having siblings makes you evil. And sometimes incesty.

There was also a half-assed explanation scene in the final episode where Ryubei lets wakana listen to the earth´s lament or something like that, and supposedly that´s what convinced her to do her father´s bidding.

Not really a great explanation but that´s all we got.

I have to admit that when I heard that Kamen Riders Ryugen and Zangetsu were going to be brothers in Gaim, my first thought was "oh, so Toei's going back to the incest?"

Yup. And that was my only real complaint about W. And that is just a minor nitpick so I don't even worry about it.

My views here are the same. It's pretty much the only bad thing about W, and leaves an unfortunate sour taste on the end of an otherwise fantastic viewing experience. But it's not *so* implausible as to really diminish the series as a whole. Just inadequately explained is all. And a bit of a kick in the nuts since Wakana was one of my favorite characters.
