Thanks for agreeing with me. It really pains me to want someone else to compete with the WWE now. But I strongly feel like that will be the only way for them to start doing new and exciting things. Last night's RAW was lackluster again. I read from other fans that they enjoyed it but to me, I'm still not feeling this Team Authority vs Team Cena angle and the forced Ambrose/Bray Wyatt feud. And now Erick Rowan decides to join Team Cena for no apparent reason. WWE logic at its finest.
It's just a convoluted mess, coz I think WWE looked at the Calendar and thought: "Oh crap! Next PPV is Survivor series, yet we don't have any real rivalries that could translate to a 5-on-5 elimination match". That, and they stupidly decided Cena should win over Orton in the last PPV so that Lesnar could just chyll at home instead of going into Survivor Series for a potentially blockbuster match between him and Orton for the WWE championship.
Though, even with the way things are now, I think they should've kept the train rolling with the potential Orton vs. Seth Rollins Rivalry by making THAT the obligatory 5 on 5 Survivor Series match -- Orton breaks away from the Authority and drafts his team, while Hunter et al drafts 3 more to show Orton what's what.
As for Dean vs. Bray Wyatt....I think they wanted those guys to headline, but...After Cena I don't think the E could find anybody that could match up against Bray Wyatt, given that Bray's schtick revolves around him being a cult leader, and he needs someone he can butt heads with not just in the ring, but also in vignettes where he could challenge the other guy ideologically. That's where losing CM Punk hurts the most. In Dean's case, they could only ride the whole Dean vs. Seth betrayal angle so far, and far as I know that angle has run its course. Like Bray Wyatt, Dean doesn't really have anybody he could get crazy on either.
That said...WWE also dropped the ball on a potential rivalry from months ago that could have and should have happened: Jack Swagger vs. Bo Dallas. I saw the E try to make it happen, and it was totally feasible, in my opinion, given that Bo was capitalizing upon Jack being unable to get over the hump and defeat Rusev. I don't know if it was lack of fan reaction or what, but in any case, the E dropped it and tried to match Bo with Mark Henry, which didn't pan out either and so Bo isn't headlining anywhere.
