Tachi vs. Katana

Which type of Japanese sword is better?

The tachi?

Or a katana?

Just so that everyone has an idea of what the actual differences are between these 2 swords:

Speaking VERY generally, the tachi is longer and has more curve in it's blade compared to the katana.


Both are excellent swords, but I I had to choose only one, personally, I'd have to go with the katana.

Yeah, I always thought tachi was just a way that the sword was worn, edge down hung from the hip, like a general's ceremonial sword.
