Spring Kamen Rider Movie - Kurata Returns!

So why would Toei go after the extra rider to reprise the role in person (Garrren), instead of the main rider Blade? People like the main riders more. That puts seats in theaters. Mach, Zeronos and Garren team up better be amazing. Odd choices from Toei.
Well, to be fair, Kenzaki wasn't very interesting, IMO. Wasn't his entire backstory that his parents died in a fire? And he was the typical "gold hearted hero", which works sometimes, but it just felt uninspired, considering the other three who had much deeper characters. Again, all of this is my opinion.

Yeah I know but I was just thinking out loud about what's the point in doing so.
Because you'd think it'd be the suspense and mystery of the movie that would entice people to watch a movie.
Like the whole Sango thing was built up as a mystery and they didn't say much about him.
That got me really hyped for the movie, but then more and more info started coming out and we got practically all the key scenes in trailers and scans.
Heck, we even got Sango's henshin sequence!
Really, the only thing I'm looking forward to now is the Blade reunion (Which will probably be ruined by the Shocker subplot) and the returning Riders' henshins and interactions.

I guess the only good thing about all this is that it saves me from disappointment

^ It's been like that for years, I dont think Toei sees that as a problem
Yes, it has been like that for a while. Recent years, though, have brought surprises you wouldn't know if you've been only following official stuff, like Ambassador Darkness' true identity last year, or the fact that one of Hongo's transformations AND battle between the Heisei team and Showa teams happen AFTER they have saved the day.
For the moment, I don't see any surprises in this one. Then again, I've been reading spoilers beyond official info.

He had a side to him that would come up sometimes. Really, the only time he seems like a generic good guy is in the firs episode, before the collapse of BOARD. That side to him that I'm talking about was a more reserved one, akin to Takumi. "Don't bother me. I'm busy dealing with my own demons." It's just not that apparent when you put him next to the other, more brooding, Riders.

One of the first scans for the movie showed Rider 3 doing a triple Rider Kick with 1 and 2. Really, he wouldn't have the "Rider 3" name and get promoted as the movie's main character if he were really a villain.

You can still have the title of "Kamen Rider" and still be a villain though...

Whatever, I just thought it would be a nice twist haha. Or is it as stupid as Diend piloting the Big Machine in SHT? LOL

I reckon he'll be a hero but disappear when the timeline is restored. Or he could exist in a alternate timeline and then get some straight-to-DVD movies of his adventures. I kinda like his design. I wouldn't mind seeing more of him. Also, they made a entirely new car for him (I still think a revamped Cyclone like the one THE FIRST/NEXT would've been better). It would be a waste if it only appeared in one movie.

Whoa major spoilers, they just showed the climax scene, we see Garren, Zeronos and Mach teaming up as expected. But then see a shot of Faiz and RX. So Kotaro is gonna be both Black/RX in the movie.

It's really predictable (And shown in a previous scan), but isn't that like a major spoiler for the movie?
I never get why the ending or scenes from the climax are spoiled outright in the trailers and promotion.
The worse offender was The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
I swear you could watch the entire movie if you strung together the lot of 10 minute footage promo clips and the various trailers.
Seriously what's the point in doing that?
It's not like its an incentive to watch the movie either since you pretty much get the jist of it just by following all the promotion.

I wish for nice twist this year, where Rider 3 goes from evil to good to evil and then dies. That would be a nice change.

The Taisen movies are flopping in Japanese box offices, its so predictable and formula based. Toei just doesnt care about a good plot for these movies. They'd practically repeated the same thing 4 times since SHT in 2012.

Ehh I would agree his backstory was pointless and didn't add much to his character. Aside from the usual "I want to save/help people" thing, which lead to the ending where he was fighting fate, I kinda liked that part.

Random theory that I have no evidence for but am gonna throw out there as a thought experiment. Many have commented that this Super Hero Taisen movie has no Sentai aside from a short Ninninger cameo. Could that be because the Taisen movies are released around the same time as the annual Sentai Vs Series film and Toei wondered if perhaps having them in such close proximity was cannibalising ticket sales? Something of a case of "why bother going to see it when you can see your favourite Sentai team in the next movie in two weeks?" Obviously it doesn't seem to have worked out as by all accounts ToQger vs Kyoryuger was the lowest selling entry, but you don't know until you try.

Sure, there are evil Riders, but you don't see them getting to be titular Riders. SHTGP:KR3's logo gives more emphasis to "Kamen Rider 3" than anything else. Aside from that, they've been constantly highlighting how this is a pre-existing, even if unknown, character, and the original Rider 3 in that manga one shot was an hero. If he were just a Shocker Rider, why would he even be called "Rider 3"? There were already 6 Shocker Riders in the original tv show.

Eh, Gaim's solo movie and Gaim/Drive Movie Wars were complete flops - the lowest box office for Heisei Rider movies aside from The First/The Next. Kamen Rider Taisen at least beat SHTZ by a bit, which is pretty good considering those other recent toku movies...

Well, they could have thrown in some older teams then. Although, I'm starting to think that they kept the "Super Hero Taisen" title just because "Kamen Rider Taisen GP - Kamen Rider 3" would sound really redundant.

Really? They've had worse titles than that LOL.

Kamen Rider x Kamen Rider x Kamen Rider The Movie Chou Den-o Trilogy: Episode Red/Blue/Yellow

Like seriously...what the hell Toei?

I forgot to comment on that snippet:

-Who is voicing Rider 1? Either Inada improved immensely (and I hope he keeps it up) or it's somebody else.

-Seems like an exciting final battle, here's hoping there's lots of interaction between the Riders.

-I didn't spot BLACK in that battle, only RX. Perhaps they are indeed going for the approach that BLACK is around only because the timelines got messed up.

-I wonder if that Let's Go Rider Kick is actually playing in the movie. I am still hoping that happens.

-Cool Henshin from Sango. Has the sound effects it should have and gives the motions even more sense. Can't wait to see the full thing.

Overall, my excitement has been revived.

Didn't Eternal also get that treatment?
