TMG isn't bad, their self-titled CD is actually pretty good, but it's mainly just like Mr. Big: The Sequel. Eric Martin's influence in their music is a lot more prominent that Matsumoto's, who's music is generally a little more rockin'. He's done some work with Steve Vai too but most of it sucks.
