Shinkenger The Movie: Sentai's biggest WTH?

ClimaxHeroDen-O

Ore, Sanjou!
I just saw Shinkenger's excuse for a movie, and all I could think was What the Heck!! I can even list off the reasons:

  1. Only 20 freakin minutes long?!!! that's shorter than an episode!!
  2. the ancestral ShinkenRed only appears in flashback and spirit form. what was the point of that?!
  3. ShinkenGold and Juzo get into a fight, then Juzo just pulls out! how anti-climactic!
  4. the Kyoryumaru takes out all the Kusare Gedoshu. why even make a large-scale war-like fight, only to have all the enemy troops taken out in less than a minute by one guy?!
  5. the biggest what the heck moment: the Kyoryumaru and Kyoryu Origami are completely separate things! shouldn't the Kyoryumaru turn into Kyoryu Origami?!

how in the world did Toei get away with this?!

I hated it as well, the ending was so abrupt. I agree about it's time length, it can't be qualified as a movie. :redface2:

I don't think there's been a Sentai movie this short in quite some time, they're usually around 30 minutes or so.

Though I don't think that would have helped because at 20 minutes, this movie still felt like it dragged.

The proof of a 20 minute toy commercial and wanting to rush out their first 3-D movie, maybe that's why it was so short. The 3-D Real-D cameras required for it were really expensive... unless there was another Shinken Movie that was the 3-D one that I'm missing completely? O.o Plus they wanted to get out a new toy somehow, and probably decided, "hey lets just throw it into a 20min show and call it a movie. Oh yeah, let's try 3-D too!" XD

Either way, it was not a great film... or story. Just a 20 minute toy commerical; which technically is like all toku shows... but "The Fateful War" was adament in that respect. >.>

Budget, budget, budget. The budget went into All Riders and Shinkengers movie suffered as a result.

This too, is all Decade's fault.

Sentai movies are essentially a full half hour......this Shinkenger movie on the other hand, it's basically the same size of an episode on TV without the commericials

Did you just say 20 freakin minutes?? That actually makes me laugh. But why the hell would they do that? How long are Rider movies?

Thanks for answering my question yellow, of course it's because of decade's movie and all the other rider movies being thrown up, like den-o.

All I know is, next year for the Super Sentai anniversary they better use such a huge amount of money, the Kamen Rider movie only last 5 minutes.

Yeah, it was 20 minutes, a little less than 21 minutes if you count the ending also.

I was "WTH" learning the length of the movie. Let's hope that the Special Act can make up for this.
