Shin Megami Tensei: Dark Wish (RPG Topic)

Griffin had his revolver in hand, as his demon partner Principality was floating beside him. The young college student honestly didn't have much clue when it came to what was truly going on, but he knew this Martin Nightroad must know because he was the one to give Griffin the COMP. Griffin had been placing his hand on Principality from time to time, and while his clothes felt real, his body felt like a statue. While the two could hear roaring, screams of pain, and laughter they knew that just the two of them couldn't save the entire city.

After walking about halfway to the hospital, Griffin's stomach had began to growl, and he was feeling like he needed something to keep him going. After seeing a cafe from across the street Griffin ran into the small coffee shop, and then looked at Principality and spoke,

" Please make sure nothing gets in unless they're human, and if I need your help I'll call for you."

Griffin had then headed back into the kitchen, looking around for something to eat but the place looked like it had already been torn apart, and the corpses made Griffin lose his appetite. Griffin then saw that there was a half full pot of coffee, that must of been left there. Cold or hot it didn't matter, Griffin was going to need to keep himself awake and sugar and caffeine were going to have to suffice. After filling up one of his two water bottles with coffee, Griffin headed out and felt much better now that he had gotten a boost of energy. The two had walked about three more miles, before Griffin saw the hospital and he began to bang on the barricaded doors shouting,

" Open up now or I'll have my angel blast down the doors."

Principality questioned Griffin's choice of words, but he could also sense the fear that the calm man was masking, so he didn't take that he was being serious but just making open threats.

Diana couldn't really believe her eyes. Was that guy using an Angel of all things against these monsters? It sure looked like one and he had dispatched the four foes with almost relative ease. Afterward, though Diana was still a bit afraid, she was going to walk up too Eric to give him her thanks, when Jan arrived. Unlike Eric, the man had a demon seemingly following him, but this one wasn't hostile like all others that she had seen. Did these guys...tame angels and demons for a living or something?

Diana didn't have long to dwell on it though, when Jan's demon seemed kind of antsy, giving Power a rather stern glare. Afraid that a fight could potentially break out, she got in between them. "Can we please not start anything. You're...controlling that demon, right? If you are, we should be working together, not fighting, yeah?" She said, trying to be a peacemaker. However, her curiosity was getting to her and she just had to know something. "What's at the hospital? Is it being used as a shelter or something?"

----------------------------------------

Martin had dispatched a few annoyances and had placed a small barrier (thanks to his knowledge of the occult) to prevent anything else from getting into his area, at least until the others showed up. He soon heard banging outside and some threats being made, which made him smirk slightly. Ah, our first guest... He made his way to the entrance and moved his custom barricade out of the way, opening the door to greet Griffin.

"Good of you to make it...now, I know you might have questions, but please wait for now...I want to see if anyone else makes it, you see." Martin said. He took note of Principality and was pleased to see that at least this person was able to summon up something with his COMP, proving that the other models worked just fine.

Having dodged a myriad of demons on the way to the hospital she and others that may have the COMP were instructed to go to, Lucy finally arrived at the vicinity of the Hospital, remaining hidden behind a dumpster so as not to be detected by any demon that may stand between her and the hotel up ahead. Witnessing a young man enter the hospital, she then looked down at her COMP. I better ask either Martin or that young man about how to open the program in my COMP. Otherwise, this COMP may just be a blunt force weapon that's good for one or two hits, she thought, proceeding to pocket her COMP once more. Without hesitation, she makes a mad dash for the hospital, hoping that no demon would catch her before she makes it to the hospital, where the two other COMP users can defend her.

Elsewhere in town, Leos and Melchom were still headed towards the hospital. Leos took a look around, taking in the destruction. It was hard to tell what was caused by demons rampaging and what was caused by human rioters. They had encountered a few of the later already, but they seemed too preoccupied with looting to pay Leos and his demon any mind. They did, however, remind Leos of something important- while he had grabbed a few supplies, he wasn't exactly well stocked. He was lacking a few important things, and who knows when things were going to go back to normal.

Fortunately, the duo was near a department store. The door had been smashed open, and Leos could hear clattering inside. He slowly moved inside, looking around for the source. Melchom followed him, not really interested in the sounds. They quickly found the source- a trio of small uniformed demons. One of them noticed the duo and ran at them. However, it was quickly engulfed in a ball of flame and reduced to cinders. The other two charged forward. Leos swung at one of them, but it didn't seem to do much. Melchom was trading blows with the third and was doing much better. The third burst into flames with a snap from Melchom. Leos managed to knock the remaining demon down. Another snap from Melchom reduced it to a pile of ash. "Knockers," Melchom said with a disdain, "annoying little twits." Leos turned to the demon. "Friends of yours?" Melchom sighed. "Would I be calling them that if they were?" The demon moved between the remains of the three, collecting a few coins from each. The coins went into the purse around his neck. "Ten down, sixteen thousand, nine hundred and ninety to go."

The duo soon made their rounds of the store. Unfortunately, it seemed that other looters had been there first. All that they were able to get was a flashlight and a few packets of dehydrated food. Leos found the idea of eating it somewhere between nauseating and "oh dear god, just let me die already," but it was all that there was. On their way out, they passed the sporting goods. "You know," Melchom said, "you're absolute crap at fighting. You might want to find yourself a weapon so you can be slightly less terrible." Leos scowled at Melchom, but he started looking through the goods. He eventually settled on a cricket bat, liking the size and heft of it.

A short walk later, the two arrived at the hospital. Already there were a few others arriving. Leos tapped at his COMP. "Melchom, you're going back for a bit. I'd rather people not know about you just yet, in case I need a trump card." Melchom started to voice a protest, but vanished. Now alone, Leos turned back to the hospital. The one with the angel had already gone in, and now it seemed like a girl was running after him. Leos put his hands in his pockets and casually walked to the door.

It wasn't long after Griffin arrived that two more came into the hospital: the attractive Lucy, who looked rather tense and a bit out of breath from running, and Leos, who just calmly walked in by contrast. Martin was pleased that more of his "chosen" were coming in, though he had a suspicion on why Lucy was out of breath. Being rather intrusive, he grabbed Lucy's arm and looked at her COMP, going through a few menus and seeing that the Demon Summoning Program was not active. It had not been started up even once.

"You managed to survive this long without turning it on? Admirable...but perhaps you didn't know how to is the more likely answer, is it? No worries..." Again going through a few menus, he activated Lucy's program and Bai Ze, her personal demon, had appeared before her. "The onscreen menus are really quite easy to figure out...then again, one wouldn't normally think a program could save them in a time like this..." He said before looking around the room. 3 of them had arrived, but others still needed to show up...as it was now, Martin could have started their next "test" but at least wanted to have a majority of his "chosen" present.

Down an empty alleyway and left at the eventual fork in the road, The young man had no proof he was heading in the right direction. He'd just continue down the path he was on till another direction grabbed him or he hit a dead end. Eventually his hapless wondering would lead him to the point where he could see the hospital.

"See Told ya we'd find it." He said to his demonic cohort. A less then enthusiastic "Indeed" was her only reply. With the end in of their trek in sight the two took their time covering the last few blocks towards the hospital. With a block between them and their goal Something appeared before them. All but It's eyes and teeth were pitch black. In drug it's feet towards the two in something of a shamble. It was hunched over with his arms hanging limply in front of it. The creature appeared emaciated. The human didn't even pause at the sight of the creature. When he was within a foot and a half of it he suddenly jerked to the right to avoid it. From there he broke into a brisk jog. He didn't need to work to hard. Just enough to outrun the creature. He wasn't expecting another to be coming around the corner as he passed. The creature lashed out at the young man. Startled he stumbled backwards tripping over his own feet and hitting the pavement. His partner rushed to his side as two more more of the Ghouls honed in on them. As they trudged toward the pair the young man stood up and attempted to reason with the creatures

"Well well. You guys sure look hungry. How bout you let us pass and I buy you something to eat." He said it with a slight chuckle. Theres no point in doing that dear " His partner replied as the ghouls yelled incoherently at the two. Their kind are far too....limited for you too reason with." Seeing her words to be true the young man sighed then turned away from the creatures approaching from the front, left and right sides of them. "Alright babe. Do your thing."

"With Pleasure" was her reply before she started her attack. She arched backward in a possibly suggestive manner. She held the pose for a moment. As she did an unusual air rose up around her. It was unusual in the sense that it was visible to the naked eye and had a bright green tint. It grew stronger with each second eventually becoming a strong gust before the woman snapped forward, projecting an open palm in front of her directed towards her assailants. "MAZAN!" She cried out As similar air formed around the group In grew faster and more violent than the one that had appeared around her. A violent wind shot up from the ground towards the creatures. The spell kicked up a lot of dust but when it cleared the creatures had stopped in place but appeared unharmed.

The young man Turned to face the creatures again. The expression produced by seeing the creatures unharmed walked a line between confusion and disinterest. "Huh. didn't work that time." You got any other tricks to show me Babe? She sighed, masking a degree of her discomfort with the citation as it was with irritability directed towards her human partner. "I would appreciate it a great deal if you didn't refer to them as tricks BABE." She assumed the same posture she'd taken before going through the same motions she'd dun prior only this time her outstretched palm was directed towards The human. "Sukukaja!" She'd cry out as the wind rose up around him. It happened to fast for him to panic. Rather than harming him the air from this spell flowed into the young man empowering him.

This time it was the woman who turned away from the creatures. "Do your thing Babe." She said with a wink and a giggle to her human companion. Before he had time to wonder just what she'd done to him A ghoul shambled up to him and lashed out. His response was instinctual and panicked, he jumped back several feet in an instance. He'd landed before he even realized he'd jumped. It was then that he realized the effect of his partner's spell. He'd gain a degree of agility he'd never thought he could possess. Especially in his slightly inebriated state. He ran towards he group slipping past each of their attacks as if they were moving in slow motion. With the group distracted His partner worked her way around the group unnoticed.

Once they'd passed the tiny mob the two broke into a dead sprint towards the hospital. Within Minutes they were at the door. When it opened The young man would be disappointed to find that he wasn't the first to arrive.

Having observed Martin open a few menus just to open the Demon Summoning program, Lucy could not help but look at Martin with disbelief, mainly because it disproved her assumption that she had to hook up her COMP to a computer and perform advanced programming just to crack it open. Her eyes then traveled to her companion demon -- a horselike demon named Bai Ze. Upon casting her eyes upon him, Bai Ze looked at his voluptuous partner as well.

"Might you be the woman that forged a contract with me?" Bai Ze inquired.

"Yes. My name is Lucy Orton," Lucy introduced herself, pointing to herself.

"I am Bai Ze. Mistress Orton, you do not need to worry about performing complicated rituals to summon me anymore. I shall stand by your side. I will be your shield. Use me well," Bai Ze replied, his voice taking on a reassuring tone.

"I shall be indebted to you, Bai Ze," Lucy responded, giving the horselike demon a nod of approval. Naturally, she didn't expect a demon to be cordial and respectful, let alone the fact that a demon would offer itself to be her shield. However, she decided to throw those questions away, knowing full well that she needed whatever help she could find.

Power pointed his spear at Yaksha in a threatening manner, the bloated fat sack of evil it was utterly repulsed the angel. "Human, remove your vile servant from our presence." he demanded. The interloper had no right to even be in his presence as far as he was concerned, a human that associated with a demon, especially one with that kind of personality must have had their share of issues.

"Just ignore fatso Power." Eric said, choosing to focus on the young woman who they had assisted. "To be honest I have no idea what is going on at that hospital. I just got some weird email directing me to go there." he explained "Considering how dangerous it is out here Power and I could bring you with us, its not like it could be any worse there than it is out here." he offered before glancing at Jan and the fat demon. "You may as well come along too, but I dont trust that partner of yours."

"Well, as long as it is safe there, I don't mind going with you guys...so then...let's go!" Diana said somewhat in an enthusiastic tone, trying to bounce back from what she just went through. Some time passed, and, after the three of them dodged a few more demons, they finally made it to the hospital. They noticed the group already there and, upon seeing them enter, Martin clapped his hands. "Ah, good, good! All of you made it...and...what's this?" He noticed one stranger among his chosen few and got closer, which prompted Diana too back off a little.

"Uh...who the heck are you? A doctor?" She said, taking note of his white coat. Martin chuckled. "Ha ha...no, no, nothing like that...but you...why did you end up here?" Diana then explained what had almost happened to her and how Eric saved her. "Ahh, it figures that someone with an angel would do some saving...well then, since you got here, you get a prize!" Martin suddenly moved in and snapped a device on Diana's arm, fast enough so she couldn't stop him. "Hey, what gives?!" She asked, looking at the terminal.

"Oh, don't be worried...you can protect yourself now, heh." He said, walking away from her, hoping that she could figure it out herself, unlike Lucy could. As Diana looked around on it, Martin then proceeded to address everyone in the room. "Now...I'd like to congratulate you all on passing the first test...however...if you want any further answers out of me, you have to pass the second test." He said, adjusting his glasses slightly. "To be honest, this hospital is not safe. A powerful demon named Forneus has taken over this place and made it his territory. Before I can entrust you with anymore information, I want you all to slay Forneus. I will help out with this task...I have a demon too, after all..." He paused, allowing his own COMP to be shown.

"For those willing to go through with this task, come with me. If not...you can either stay in this safe area I created or fend for yourselves on the streets...the choice is yours to make, dear Survivors." He finished, now awaiting for their responses. Diana wanted to respond, but she was busy working the menus on her COMP, wanting to summoner her demon first before she made a decision.

Griffin listened to Martin as he had congratulated all the survivors with passing the first test, but he had a deep feeling inside that Martin was hiding stuff for a reason. While Griffin was trying to think out what he should do, he turned to the other survivors and didn't know how they were truly feeling about everything, but he did wish to be kind because even with his demon, if you irritate a group of others with demons you'd be outnumbered. Griffin would take the canisters of water and coffee from his backpack, and a half eaten loaf of bread along with a unopened bag of chips and he spoke to the others before putting them on the ground," Please if you are thirsty or hungry, or you just can't stay awake please share amongst yourselves."

Griffin would then open his revolver up, and take the soon to be empty box of bullets as he began to dump the empty casings out, and loading the gun with unused bullets. That's when Griffin looked and said," So other then demons did any of you guys acquire weapons? You know anything to defend yourselves?" Griffin's attention would turn to Martin, and he would question him," Let me guess you prepared weapons for us? Or if we fail and get fed to this Forneus thing...do you just expect to replace us?" The whole world had gone to hell or at least from what we believed, and Martin seemed very calm and collected but Griffin got up and chuckled before making a pun," Well Mr.Nightroad I guess I've joined your party." Griffin would say before spinning the cylinder of his gun, and closed it in.
