That's what I'm thinking as well. Fans are gonna go full throttle with how awesome things can be for this series but really it'll just end up being Bompers who can fight. We've done this dance before.

And you didn't care for Janperson one bit? It's probably one of the best Metal Heroes, at least after you get halfway into the show and are used to all the characters. For shame.

But what I'm trying to say is that is weird to complain about having non-human (and robotic-like) main characters in Gobusters when it's been done before in previous series.

But except for GoseiKnight, none were promoted as the heroes. (Shurikenger is really an animated suit ... I'm not sure if he counts?)

In fact, if that stand-up robot thing is the seventh "hero", we have more bots on the team than people

Story

Story:

The Super Sentai of 2012 has been revealed! Tokumei Sentai Gobusters. Waging a secret fight against a Super Computer that has gained self awareness, Team Gobusters is formed!

The team is composed of the Gobusters and their Partner Buddy Roids.

RedBuster, BlueBuster, YellowBuster,

Chida Nikku, Gorisaki Banana, and Usada Letas.



The catchphrase seems to be "It's Time for Buster!"

Anyone think the Morphin Brace looks like a mix between BoukenSilver & TimeFire's changers?.

The benefit of mecha being actual tangible characters that do things on field helps (among other things) to work around the problem of mecha battles being just incredibly tacked on in most Sentai show. Especially considering how for many years rangers were pulling their robots out of their ass. Headers and Hurricaneger's mecha materialized from real-life objects, Go-Ongers and Shinkengers had expandable portables, Gokai Galleon just seems to warp wherever and GoZyuDrill DOES warp wherever. It is ridiculous. Granted, these things are essentially expandable portables too but at least they're doing things when they're not giant.
