To be honest, When I heard about Shinkenger, I thought the rangers would be named after real samurai and have horse-like Motorcycles, sort of a Kakuranger 2.

In retrospect Shinkenger has been more Sentai-as-costume-drama than something that really feels samurai-themed. This isn't bad but I can't fault people for being disappointed.

Sadly the samurai theme is one of those one shot deals like time for timeranger. It's hard to make another series based off the idea because you used up all your material the first time

The kabuki, the lords and vassals etc etc.

Dinosaurs, Ninjas themes and car themes are more flexible. They can be magical based or technological based.

Seriously, how can you turn a theme like 'Time' into a magical season?

See? Not hard to re-use any theme if you really want to. Just need to let some time pass between seasons. That said, I doubt Toei would bring time-travel back since Timeranger didn't sell the toys. Shinkenger seems to have done better, so maybe in ten years or so we'll see another stab at it.

How can anyone be dissapointed with Shinkenger, especially from eps 38 onward?. I mean this is seriously some of the greatest stuff I've seen in Sentai in a long long time.

I thought they did a great job with Shinkenger.
