Radio Sentai Wavenger (RPG Thread)

"No mom I dont wanna go to school...the food sucks and they make me do work..." he groaned, still not quite back to reality due to him typically being an incredibly heavy sleeper who didnt wake up too easily. Luckily though he snapped back to reality rather quickly thanks to Aelita's efforts. He let out a rather large yawn as he sat back up still in a slightly zombie like state. "Huh? It's already time to get going?" he asked, not quite aware of just how long he had been out.

((Id like to take this moment to plug my latest fic which you can find over in the fanfic section))

After saying her good byes to Aelita, Akira was about to leave the break room, notes in hand when she noticed Yuki in the room as well, promptly feeling embarrassed. He's been here the whole time and I didn't even address him...ack... "Well, I'm off to do my show Yuki-san...wish me luck, heh..." She said politely as she headed out. Upon getting to the broadcast room, Akira promptly hit a few switches, and soon, her program's theme song was playing, which was the song "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni", which was also the haunting theme to the show of the same that aired a while back.

"Welcome, brave listeners...to the Gate to Youkai Palace...as always, I am your guide, Akira Kimihara...how is everyone? Ready for another one of my tales? Fufufu..." When Akira was broadcasting her show, she got rather into it, as if she was some sort of guide into the supernatural. It helped that she sounded the part too, as she was informative and also slightly sinister sounding as well.

"Tonight's horror we shall learn about is the Gashadokuro...these frightening creatures resemble giant skeletons and are created by gathering the bones of those poor souls who have died of starvation. That's not all though...they are also fifteen times taller than the average person...and are actually quite stealthy for that size too...if you are spotted, well...if you value your head, too bad...you'll lose it in it's jaws, heh heh...."

"Now, they can be detected, if you hear ringing in your ears, children...so, if you do, better run for it...if you value that head of yours, of course, heh..." Akira then paused for a second, to add some more tension before continuing on with her show, systematically going through each part she had highlighted previously.

Aelita’s lower lip tucked in fighting off the urge not to laugh from Ethan’s sleep talk. It was something Aelita would not ask nor share with the others. Quietly recomposing she stood fully upright taking a few steps back. Aelita’s crimson eyes widen more surprisingly rather than shock for a moment that he was in a seemly deep sleep for the past few hours or so. With their recent battle with Nazaan and time of day completely understood and sympathized with him.

“Yes†Aelita nodded slightly with a faint smile, “Even though my show was concluded few hours ago could not bring myself to wake you up and started work on tomorrow’s broadcast.†tapping her notebook with one finger.

((Great fanfic, Kain.))

"Well, I'm off to do my show Yuki-san...wish me luck, heh..." She said politely as she headed out.

Yuki simply smiled and nodded his head in response to what Akira had said. He pulled out a pad of paper and started jotting down some ideas for his show. He figured he'd go on about the press butting into the personal lives of athletes, but he needed to decide exactly what songs to say, and a secondary topic if he ran into a dead end. Being the final show out of the group he had the fewest listeners but that really didn't bug him, it allowed him to get out what he was thinking.

The first song Yuki scribbled down was We Survive by Kotoko, and a few minutes later he had added Be Somewhere, by Buzy, Killing me by L'arc~en~ciel, Ignited by T.M. Revolution, and XTC by Psychic Lover.

As Yuki sat and thought of other songs to add to the list for his show he also listened to Akira's show, and chuckled a bit when he heard her talking about running for your life when you hear ringing in your ears. He wasn't a big believer in demons and such, but being a Wavenger he learned that you really shouldn't dismiss everything. After all if someone would of told him that creatures can exist in the form of radio interference, he would of laughed at them and called them crazy.

"I guess I'll just add a call in segment to fill the rest of the time." He said as he kicked back and took a little nap waiting for his turn.

"Wow I was out longer than I thought, I think I'll let the tech guys know about that tomorrow, they would probably want that kind of data or something." he told her while yawning once more and standing up. Since he was napping on his side his left arm was apparently asleep since it just hung there like a noodle. "Anyways im ready to go whenever you are, typically Id stay up for Akira's show but I think I'll turn in early tonight." he told her. "Luckily the most we see from the Nazaan during nights is just a little static in radio signals."

“Actually …†Aelita paused for a moment remembering that he did not preferred to used honorofics by him or anyone in his presence. “Actually Daisuke’s show ended awhile ago and Akira is on right now, we can listen to her show on the way home.†retrieving her ipod phone. Turning the volume up for the two of them to hear, she look up and nodded on the motion for them to leave. Though his second yawning resulted in her yawning as well. “I’d like to think that you were merely exhausted, but you’re right to let them know about this. It could be valuable information on the data.†Turning around she started to walk taking the lead “Do you…Do you think they’ll be wise enough not to try anything uring the day?â€

"As for sightings of these monsters...well, as with most of their counterparts, they haven't been seen very much due to the advancement of man...but don't get arrogant, children. Old horrors don't die...they just hide in better places...so...keep your eyes and ears open, all right?" She finished with a slight laugh, trying to be sinister. "Now...that I have informed you of this terror...let's hear from some of you listeners...now, we all know the rules, children. Call in with genuine stories...the Gate to Youkai Palace doesn't take kindly to prank callers..."

Because of the nature of the show, Akira did get plenty of prank callers, which kind of messed with the flow of the show. She has since installed some rules and, although she still does get the occasional prank call, she's thankful to have some courtesy among her listeners.

Hearing his co-worker's request for calls, and the comment about pranks, Yuki found him self very tempted to call in. Before he had joined the station he never would of thought of prank calling the place, no he found it to be a waste of time. However, in his short time as a Wavenger he had lightened up somewhat, still cold on the outside, and not much of a talker, his co-workers did get an occasional smile out of him. "Why not, it's not like it'll hurt anyone." Yuki said as he pulled out his cell phone and scrolled down to the station's number.

"My name's Yukihiro, and I'm a big fan of your show." Yuki paused and thought of what else to say. " Earlier today, I think I may of seen a Tengu, is that something I should be worried about?"

Yuki figured that Akira may of recognized his voice, but he figured it was worth it, he wasn't completely lying, it may not of been a tengu, but it certainly was a humanoid bird creature that he had seen earlier. As for being a fan of her show, he didn't really buy into the yokai stuff, but the music was good.

"You always seem to be prepared Aeli, like I said I like listening to Akira's program, it's pretty entertaining." he told her while using a nickname he occasionally used to refer to her. He seemed to have a nickname for each of them, he called Aelita Aeli, he sometimes called Daiskue Dice or Dice man, referred to Yuki as Cold Shoulder and just to annoy her and get some laughs he called Akira that disembodied squeaky noise. "The techs pretty much tell me to give them any and every piece of info I get regarding the Wave Systems they develop. As for the Nazaan, im not sure exactly how their physiology works but I heard Doc Kiryu say that they cant stabilize at night or something. So we should be able have a peaceful walk home." he told her as the two of them left the building.

Seeing that there was a caller, Akira put them on and listened to "Yukihiro", recognizing his voice almost right away. Hmm...well...it is a valid question...not exactly truthful, but...I guess I'll humor him... "Ahh, well, that depends on what type of Tengu it was child...if it was a Kotengu, then you should worry. They used to be people with ignorant or cruel hearts before changing into their current forms...Karasu Tengu tend to be rather troublesome. On the other hand, if it was a Daitengu, then you don't need to worry...they are usually rather upstanding, if a little vain and arrogant. What was it's size? If it's small, it's Ko, if it's larger, it's Dai...I hope this helps you, child..."

Akira finished, wondering what Yuki's response would be to her answer...
