Power Rangers RPM

I think there's been a few pieces of controversies around Power Rangers over the years and a general view that its a violent show. I think Disney is worry it might damage its squeaky clean image you know? Do they even market it as 'Disney's Power Rangers'? That's pretty telling. They like how it brings in the toy money but its a bit hard to market with the full power of the Disney brand (which could probably make it much bigger) without endangering their precious image.

Kinda like how Arnie's DisCom/PR crossover don't work thematically no matter how much he likes the idea or how hard he works at it :p

Or why W.I.T.C.H. and Gargoyles got the shafts.

I know. Blink 182 style music doesn't fit with a dark and gritty storyline and the theme they used for the show is a throwback to the original MMPR theme. You know,

"GO GO POWER RANGERS!
GO GO POWER RANGERS!
GO GO POWER RANGERS, MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS!"

And that's all they said, yet they like that song a lot and they hate the RPM theme. :nono:

To be fair, the original had a better tune and nostalgia.

If they're so ashamed, why not sell to another company that won't be?

Because that's not how business works.

That is why big business is the root of all evil.

Anyway, saw the first two episodes. Pretty cool. Like the story. I'm a little confused as to why Ziggy isn't being shown to be the green ranger in the theme. Good mix of Go-onger and original footage. Finally, pretty good stories. Can't wait to see three.

However, I'll have to watch from downloads, because ABC Kids stops at noon, right when RPM starts. :bawling:

It's still not right.

There should be no reason why Disney's just gonna let it die out.

Hopefully after a few years when the rights or whatever lapses, another company will pick it up.

What are they gonna do, just put out the toys?

An animated series would destroy the toy production factor of the show, IMO.

Exactly. And why wouldn't they? They still make Transformers and GI Joe toys when no show is airing.

How so?

I'm not too keen on the idea of an animated PR, either, but it looks like that's what we're gonna be getting, at least for the time being, so we might as well get used to it.

PR is Disney's red haired foster child >.>

And Disney treats their animated property almost as bad as they treat PR so its not gonna change all that much.

An animated PR would end up being 13 episodes a season, be about villains as competant as Norg and probably throw any sort of plot or continuity out the window for episodic plots they can sell in smaller package to the rest of the world.

You know that's how it'll end up.
