Check this out, The Fred movie got 7.6 million viewers. And this kid is only known for internet videos.
Power Rangers is very much still mainstream, it's still a nostalgic show. Remember Power Rangers was the number 1 trending topic on Twitter when MMPR premiered on Abc Kids.
I honestly think PR2011 will be the biggest premiere in franchise history. Let's not forget how Nick advertises it's new episodes into "specials" to attract even more viewers. iCarly still holds the Cable record of about 9 million viewers for a kids show which is outrageous.
PR is in the best hands it's ever had. I also think the Goseiger adaptation will be the one that will raise the bar even further.
I think you're over exaggerating shitloads on this man.
First off, Fred having "7.6 million viewers" from his movie is basically a little more than half the amount of viewers he has on his YouTube channel. Fred was a lot more famous than before he got his little "iCarly apparance" or having anything associated with Nickelodeon.
With that being said, Power Rangers (Shinkenger) will be fine........it wouldn't be shitastically outrageous as the ratings for the Fred movie, but I think it'll be good enough to at least last for another season if Nick keeps their end of the bargain in terms of promoting and advertising like they always do.
