Having more than once walked through the hole in the ground those M.F.S.O.Bs left, having stood where 2000 people died becuase of them, I say blow them all to hell!:shakefist

Nobody hurts my city and gets away with it! :patriotic:

Kingranger, my cousin's husband was FDNY; half of his firehouse was killed that day, and only by the grace of God he was off that day. I DARE you to tell him to his face that the guys who cost him his dearest friends and his own health for helping afterwards, shouldn't suffer one bit for what they did!

And where did I say anything against the people that died? Please show me in this thread. Quote me please? I am very interested to see where I said anything against those people.

Also the people that caused the travesty that day, are not the ones we went to war against. I think you should check your facts on that.

Hi!

I gotta step in at this point, because we're all getting emotional. Understandably. There are wounds opened during the time period that we're talking about that are still raw and unsettled with a lot of people, myself included. That heat and anger you all feel, for whatever reason and directed at whomever, is understandable and you have every right to feel it.

That said, if you direct that anger at a fellow poster, this will only escalate. And someone will eventually say something they regret, and infractions will have to be handed out. I would really like to avoid that. So if we're going to discuss this, let's all take a deep breath and discuss it. But if we can't, then please don't.

I agree, but I want to know where myself or anyone else here said anything against the people that he spoke of?

I have my facts stright, they are loose in both Iraq and Afganistan ploting to cause even more trouble.

You have been saying over and over about how making someone suffer is wrong (I'm not in the mood to go over every) well, they made thousands of people suffer by doing something far worse than anything we ever did to them. lets compare being straped to a plank of wood and having water poured on you to getting vaporized in a towering inferno.

I normaly don't like to bind myself to an idea, but watching that smoke cloud drift over the Verrizano Bridge made an exception; that they need to be weeded out and stopped before someone else gets hurt.

You are speaking out of pure emotion here, so there is nothing really I can say to you on this debate.

I agree with you there, that's why we can't rule it out completely. You have to have all options. If your enemy knows there's a limit, then they know what to prepare for and can resist spilling information that we might need to save lives.

Precisely. And again another reason for us not knowing EVERYTHING our government does. We're in such a high tech day-and-age that if *we* know everything, then so do they. Maybe we can know that we have had to have tortured people, but if we all know the methods used, then they can prepare for them, and we end up having to result to even more barbaric methods.

And for the people who lost loved ones in 9/11; I did too. However, it is our emotions that drive us to want to destroy the people that did that, not logic. Also we went to war in Iraq for different reasons than 9/11, however it was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

When we let our emotions rule our logic we can be no better than monsters. Our government is supposed to take the level-headed approach and not let themselves get caught up in the pain and hurt that everyone feels from that attack.

We are a young nation. Many other nations have gone through MUCH worse than we have war-wise. The high road is a hard road to take, but that's the government's job.

And VengeanceGOD, I agree. This thread can be very constructive as long as everyone stays calm. I personally like seeing everyone's input.
