I think the only real head-scratch worthy evidence is the fact that the body's been disposed of, but even then, apparently there was a good reason for that?

It's a reasonable reason, yeah, and I scratched my head at it too. So I certainly can't blame people for raising eyebrows at that and wanting to know more.

At the same time, it seems like the matter of his burial was going to create a political/religious firestorm no matter what, so I can see why they'd do it the way they did to try and placate as many people as possible.

Basically I can go either way on it. I don't think it's "omg obvious conspiracy ass-covering," but I can also see why you'd want to ask questions about it. Hopefully people will push and we'll start getting more information in the days and weeks to come.

Actually from what I've read it's following some sort of Islamic custom of being buried at sea so I guess the USA is still trying to be somewhat sensitive?
