Notable Toku actor voice acting roles

I was amazed to find myself recognising voice actors in anime recently, despite not knowing very much Japanese. Last week I noticed that Vincent Law's (Ergo Proxy) voice actor sounded very familiar; but I couldn't place it, and forgot to check. Last night, watching Claymore, (at our anime club we watch Claymore and Ergo Proxy on Wednesdays) a new character was introduced whose voice sounded familiar again. I was sure I'd heard it in Kamen Rider Den-O. Looked it up on my friend's laptop and sure enough, Urataros is Vincent Law and this new guy in Claymore Didn't remember Vincent until I saw it, and then later could tell it was Urataros.

Any roles toku actors have voiced which you've recognised in anime?

The guy who did Aka Red, also did Amuro Rei from the Mobile Suit Gundam series I didn't know it at first, but it was nifty finding that out.

I have been a fan of voice actors since before I started watching toku...lol So, yeah, I've noticed this sort of things

The main Den-O voice actors are established veterans already. Most of them have long lists of credits(except Terasoma Maski) If one watches anime, one is bound in run into one of them at one point or another. :sweat: For example, these two
Seki Toshihiko -Animenewsnetwork link -He's in Naruto, Bleach, Gundam Wing, GS/D, Saiyuki & its sequels, etc etc

ANN link - He's in GSD, D grayman, Ouran High School Host club, Digimon frontier, etc

I'd bet part of Den-O's popularity is due to the fanbases of these voice actors...Several voice actors magazines even did specials on Den-O cus of them.

Some other recurring seiyuu names I see(for villians/allies) include Kusao Takeshi(Gekiranger's Pyon Pyon, Magiranger's Smoky), Madono Mitsuaki(One of the pollution villians in Go-onger Kitaneidas, that irritating rock Precious in Boukenger, one of the Genjyuken villians Shiyuu), Namikawa Daisuke(Ban's predecessor in Deka-Gyoku Rou, Magiranger N-ma, Go-onger Speedle).

Shin-ichiro Miki who did Seig/WING Form also did Kisuke Urahara (Bleach) and Kruz Weber (Full Metal Panic!)

Tetsu Inada is also an accomplished voice actor in his own right. Not only has he done the Kraken Imagin in Kamen Rider Den-O, as well as Doggy Kruger in Dekaranger, he's also famous for being Sajin Komamura in Bleach as well as Bravoman in Namco x Capcom.

Ryusei Nakao has also done his good share; aside from being Agent Abrella in Deka, he's also the voice of Mayuri Kurotsuchi in Bleach. He was also the Japanese dub voice for Buster Bunny in Tiny Toon Adventures.

I happen to know that Rica Matsumoto, who played Satoshi (Ash) in the Japanese Pokemon show, played Arthur G6 in Fiveman.

Also, the late Hirotaka Suzuoki, who played Sakaki (Giovanni) in the Japanese Pokemon, played Yugande (Ecliptor) in Megaranger.

Finally, (not sure if this counts) Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam in Power Rangers) played Ichigo Kurosaki in Bleach (the dub, obviously).

Seiicha Ikeda-Bat Li, form Gekiranger was the VA's to Sandaru-Hurricanger, Char Aznable-Mobile Suit Gundam, Gilbert Durandal-Gundam Seed Destiny, and Marluxia-Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories.

The late Suzuoki-san was also the VA of Bright Noah from Mobile Suit Gundam.

Plus, JYB was also the VA of Vash the Stampede from Trigun, in case if anyone has forgotten or it they already know.

Rokuro's brother, Naya Goro, Dai Shuryo aka the Great Leader from the Showa era Kamen Rider series, plays Goemon [pilot only] and Inspector Zenigata in Lupin the 3rd. Rokuro also dubbed Hongo Takeshi in the Kamen Rider eps that were shot after Fujioka had his stunt accident. I think he dubbed eps 9 through 13.

Surprised nobody brought up Nobuyuki Hiyama (Ben-G in Dekaranger and the Wolf Imagin in Den-O, and General Kamikaze in Dairanger, just to name a few roles), he's played Guy in GaoGaiGar/GaoGaiGar FINAL, (Adult) Link in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Madarame Ikkaku in Bleach, Viral in Gurren Lagann, and so on. The guy DEFINES hot blooded voice acting :laugh:
