To its credit, it does have good animation from Japan!
Though, for some strange reason, the Ponies tend to stick out like a sore thumb.

The animation of the old MLP TV episodes was much worse than this. The clip above is from the debut special, which didn't look bad at all. The TV stuff was atrocious.
The old MLP show is why I don't mind the new one not having a plot, since the one-offs are quite good. The old MLP show was basically long, serialized adventure plots that totally sucked.
Where the new MLP is pretty darn relevant to the problems and emotions little girls experience, the old MLP show wasn't relevant to anything. It was burned out comic book writers rehashing watered-down fantasy plots from the 70s.
This usually meant the morals in the old show were no less transparent than the morals in the new show-- but instead of wrapping things up in 22 minutes, it was wrapped up in two weeks.
If you came in on the middle of these long arcs, it was impossible to tell WTF was going on because the episodes were only 10 minutes long. MLP had to share a timeslot with... I think Mr. Potato Head Kids.
Toward the end of MLP's run, they dropped the fantasy stuff (which tended not to feature new toys) and did more stuff focusing on the adventures of baby ponies hanging out in Ponyville or wherever the hell the show took place.
These episodes were as poorly-written as ever, but now featured nothing more interesting than Baby What'sherface dealing with insane ballet-dancing peer pressure or some stupid **** like that.

Plus I think the old 'big nose pseudo-realistic' style is ugly compared to the cute one in the new show.
I got two tiny plastic figurines of Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle, the really tiny one with no articulation and stuff. Way better than stuff with hair

Man, not that again. Half the time I forget AJ even has a hat--but I'm sure if one needs a mini-cowboy hat, they exist. Somewhere. Hell, they can even be made! Just in general, I think the constant hat-whining needs to stop.
But yes, thank you muchly. I'll run around the internets, see what I can find. I only heard that they were coming but not that they were out yet! Worse comes to worse, I'll actually hit up a toy store. Sweet!

None of the Applejack toys have hats, except maybe the barn playset. Not sure if anyone here would want that though, seeing how it uses the weird big headed design.
This is just me but I would wait a week for Toy Fair to see what they have to offer before trying to track anything down. But if worse comes to worse you could always just try the Hasbro website.

See, I'd personally be against that. I'd want the hat as an accessory. She's different kinds of cute depending on whether or not she has the hat on. So her sculpt version not having a hat is a bonus. Down the line, if she gets a hat, I can put it on that one too! Or I can. Y'know. Find/make one.
