Murai Ryota is atrocious. This is mostly because of my pro-Odagiri fanboy-ism.
Den-O, I loved it for the humor and Yuriko Shiratori and Takeru Satoh. It was a joy to watch for the Comedy. Not really for the story, even though they were some intresting parts.
I don't know what so bad about Hibiki, unless they didnt like how they didnt say "Henshin" or used or Rider Kick or just hated Asumu.
From my scant travels through the fandom, Den-O was the breaking point for people, where Toei started getting overly ambitious with its concepts. Den-O was the satire Rider, Kiva was.... a thing, and Decade, holy crap that show broke a lot of longtime online Rider fans' hearts.
Which makes me sad cause I love Den-O and Decade to bits (I'm pretty sure I'd like Kiva too if not for its insufferable main character.)
W? It's great and all but W plays it safe in all sorts of ways. Maybe not safe in terms of "Heisei Rider" but in terms of "hero story in general," definitely. I can easily see why people latched on to it. It's the first time Rider's made some damn sense from ep. 1 onward in a long time.
I'm trying to go through Heisei now and it's... kind of a chore, but Kabuto makes me the angriest because it could have been so much better. And not in any sort of fan-fantasy expectations like I see a lot of people place on Decade or something, I mean basic fundamental episode-contained plotting.
That's the only Heisei show so far where I can lose track of what the episode is about with a single scene change.
Same thing happened to me with Blade but then once I pushed through to watch the episodes I started really getting into it and now I really want another season like Blade. XD
And harsh on the Kiva. 0_< Noone should be called Twilight.
