Kingpin To Serve As SPIDER-MAN 4’s Big Bad??

“Spider-Man 4†producer Todd Black tells the New York post:

"We're just coming up with who the villain's going to be now. We'll be shooting in New York again. Trust me, people will appreciate who we pick, because it'll be a big part of New York."

Post columnist Reed Tucker surmises Black is likely talking about Wilson Fisk, “The Kingpin.â€

Though first played in 2003’s “Daredevil†by Michael Clarke Duncan, the superstrong crime boss was actually introduced in 1967’s Amazing Spider-Man #50.

I’m a huge fan of Duncan’s and quite enjoyed “Daredevil,†so I’d love to see Duncan brought back for a bit more Marvel universe-building. But I also wonder if Fox, which released “Daredevil,†has any claim to Fisk that would prevent him from appearing in Sony’s Spidey franchise.

Black also confirms to Tucker that Kirsten Dunst will reprise Mary Jane Watson in the fourth chapter.

That'd be so cool if they bring Michael Clarke Duncan as The Kingpin again for Spidey 4.

Great. Not only do we have vampires, but we also have Kingpins. What's next. freaking Misphisto? Well. There is One More Day.

That would be awesome but the problem is...Kingpin was used in Daredevil and they would have to go through a **** load of stuff if they want copywrites to use him for Spider-Man 4.

If they do get him for Spider-Man 4, I will scream like a fangirl at a Jonas Concert.

I'd love to see Kingpin in Spider-Man 4. When I was a kid watching the Spider-Man 90s animated series, Kingpin was one of my favorite villains... :buttrock:

It doesn't surprise me that Kingpin is gonna be in Spider-Man 4. Kingpin was one of the most important villains in the Spider-Man franchise.

No there's no big problem really, Sony will just need to get the rights from Marvel to use Kingpin, sure Fox still has their hands on Daredevil but not necessarily the Kingpin character. Besides Sony is a big company, getting the rights for some comic book villain that was used only once before in a mundane movie shouldn't be a challenge.

And there's a 95% chance that this Kingpin will not be the same Kingpin from the Daredevil movie.

Actually, he really wasnt. Aside from his initial storylines which saw the demise of Foswell and a couple of campus related Spidey storylines, Kingpin was FAR more useful to the Daredevil franchise. All of his best storylines come from there.

During the gang warfare storylines of the Roger Stern era, Spidey's principle nemesis was Wilson's son Richard, aka The Rose, and if it wasnt him, it was Roderic Kingsley in his identity of The Hobgoblin. Other than the FOX Spidey series pushing Kingpin down people's throats, he really isnt a Spidey villain in the slightest
