King of Fighters Maximum Impact & 2006 (Max Impact 2)

I think the opposite, I think DOA4's story made alot more sense than MI2's story. I mean one character is a alien, its not clear who's ending is canon, the final boss is a transexual, and a the main story really doesn't go that much into depth besides the opening text. Hell the side story's with Billy Kane and the other Fatal Fury guys makes more sense than the main MI2 story. However DOA4's story is a bit unclear unless you look it up on wiki.

On another note about the MI2 story, Falcoon is trying to link the Maximum Impact series to the official KoF series....this is coming from a man that has made official KoF Doujins. I'd like to see him explain how the age gap between Rock and Terry magically grew shorter.

I should have been more specific. I know nothing about the MI Storyline. I don't follow. I really only follow the storylines from the 2D KOF sagas.. Orochi,NEST..etc. I was told the MI is non-canon. I don't know if this is true or not.

How is it better then other FG storylines?

The mysterious unearthing of progressively older and more powerful members of the same family?

The freezing of one Williams sister?

Backstories for fighting bears, a robot that molests its owner, training dummies, etc...?

Tekken puts in just enough storyline that you're left with a WTF if you start looking at the details.

I think the Soul Caliber/Blade series and the VF series have stronger storylines.

Virtua Fighter's storyline is almost non-existant.. Unless you're talking about the Anime.

Virtua Fighter has always focused on the fighting aspect of the game; the plot is entirely secondary.

But we know who won the tournaments though and why.

We know Akira won, as did Pai's father and so on. We even know who one of the Dural's was. The Tekkens just kind of.... through more and more crap in there and leave you confused.

Oh yeah that's a real detailed storyline. :eyebrow:

MI is its own universe....until Falcoon got his hands on it again.

King's supposed to be pregnant with Ryo's child, etc...

You know besides the Doujins, I don't recall anywhere saying King and Ryo official got together and settled down.

Besides the KoF universe is seperate from the Fatal Fury and AoF universe, the KoF universe has altered AoF and Fatal Fury universes.

More like Alpha's. It's got enough holes in the plot to drive a truck through.

I do credit the Udon comics for tightening up the continuity, though.

And of course, there's the Versus series...

The ending for one of KOF's, specifically the ending for the AOF team where King is fighting with them, Takuma jumps in and saves her from being attacked.

When asked he states that he couldn't let the mother of the next king or leader of the Clan be harmed.

Then in a more recent KOF, for the AOF ending we see King and Ryo on a date somewhere and the dialouge indicates King has something important she wants to tell Ryo but as usual Yuri and company screw it up.

So yes, King and Ryo are a couple and there were pretty strong indications she was thought to be either pregnant or made his wife soon.

As the series being not connected, again I would refer to SNK's own older canon. Earlier games from both AOF and FF referenced the tournament as the "King of Fighters" tournament. Mark of the Wolves, a game set MUCH later in the FF brand name also makes it clear that its tournament is the KOF tournament for that year.

Yup, JABR is an awesome, AWESOME person right now. ;_; KING FOREVER BABEH!! I dont care if it doesnt make sense though. I hated it when they would leave King out of the games. She's my favorite character in the whole SNK family so, even if it doesnt make sense, I love it when she's there.

That's the only ending I havent seen yet cause I dont think I've played that KoF game. I remember people talking about it on the boards when it was released (if I'm remembering correctly).

Most of the AOF storylines in KOF were comedic (on par with the Korean Team's story)...

By KOF XI, King and Ryo are dating (hell she dropped much of her tomboy persona, in addition Ryo is beginning to adopt the "Buriki One Mr. Karate" persona). I think the AOF story now revolves around Takuma, Robert, and Yuri trying to get King and Ryo to hook up. Their first attempt led to not only Takuma, Robert, and Yuri feeling the blunt force of King's wrath, but Kasumi, Eiji, and Malin all got knocked out when King threw at table at them.
