King of Fighters Live Action Movie trailer

And with the Tekken movie you know why some of the characters resemble their characters? They got the fighters that the characters were based on to play a good deal of them.

What? Like who? Tekken was popular long before most of the leads got their starts.

Idk I think directors just figure that just cuz it's a popular game franchise, they can just slap together any old cast, throw in some twirls and crappy cg effects and call it a day.

The thing is, it's really not a very popular game franchise, at least not in America. I think even Legend of Chun-Li had more going for it than this because people at least know the name Street Fighter; King of Fighters is going slip right under the radar and never surface except among fans of the game and martial arts movies.

Craig-Jones I can see, but Tekken 3 came out in 1998 and Zero Gravity didn't even make their first short film until 2000, so Eddy Gordo wasn't based on Lateef Crowder, he just ended up being coincidentally perfect for the role. I get the point you were trying to make, though, and I think you're right. Tekken will at least be notable in that they're obviously trying to be true to things like the characters' appearances, origins, and costumes, and hopefully with such an experienced crew of martial artists and fighters, they'll be able to put out a movie that at least has some watchable action.

Action doesn't look too bad but, as it was already said, it looks incredibly "direct-to-DVD"

Also, was that the score from The Dark Knight playing at the beginning? :eyebrow:

Huh didn't know that about Crowder, guess he's just that perfect for the role.

What the **** was that?

Let me get this straight. If you throw any group of people who can do stunt martial arts together in a half-assed plot and thirty-five bucks worth of special effects you get to name it after a video game franchise?

**** yeah, motherfucks. I'm gonna get me Stiffler, Howie Long, Cody from Step by Step, Lucy Lawless, and Hermonie Granger, spend a couple days putting a script together and release BAD Dudes: Streets of Final Fighting in 2011. :buttrock:

And this still sounds better then KOF will be.
