Kick-Ass Movie - Talk Up!

Saw the movie yesterday morning and I liked it a whole lot. Not as good as the graphic novel imo but that's fine. The changes that were made didn't bother me in the slightest but I do have one gripe and one gripe only.... The fuckin' Jet pack. A jet pack with Gattling guns attached. Really? The only thing that saved that scene is that it was somewhat built up earlier in the film. Other than that little bit I thought the movie was KICK-ASS! (Bad pun thouroughly intended) :)

yer the jet pack did seem a tad to much, however made me think of robocop III so I felt all nostalgic in the cinema

Haven't seen it yet nor I have read the comic, but I'm a sucker for comic book films always. Speaking of that, we got another comic book adaptation coming out this Friday. Anyone going to give it a watch? The Losers are looking badass from the trailers I seen.

never heard of it, however im a comic book movie sucker too so I will probebrly catch it when it gets out over here

The numbers
Production was about $30 million, Liongates paid $15 million for the domestic distribution rights alone, and at least $25 million to a possible $30 million on advertisement. The box office for the opening week-end was $20 million and the total foreign box office since March 26th has been $17 million. And seeing how it is already under-performing the chances of breaking even are reduced.

Well that sucks, because everything I've heard about it puts it as one of the best movies of the year...

Wait the jet pack wasn't in the comic? That was the best part! Jet pack's are the ultimate symbol of nerd justice!

Extremely average movie but it was a fun movie but lacks all of the substance of the comic book. And I personally thought the comic book wasn't too good. I have a few complaints with how choppy some of the action scenes were filmed, namely Big Daddy's. Big Daddy and Hit Girl were simpler versions of their comic book counterparts and quite frankly much less interesting. Overall its a fun but forgetful movie. Kind of like a lot of Nicholas Cage's movies.

Haha, it hasn't bombed yet, gun-jumpers. It hasn't even had the opportunity to bomb. I predict that it will double its current profit by the time it leaves theaters and the revenue brought in by its home video and rental release will more than cover the cost of advertising. Some of y'all really like to turn on the scoff early, don't ya?
