Salvatore fell to his knees in exhaustion as his stand vanished. He felt like he had just run a marathon after not sleeping for several days. "Man...that..." he gasped in between breaths, "...really takes...it out...of you..." He tried to get back on his feet, but his body refused to move. The two consecutive fights, along with using that technique, had finally taken their toll on him. His eyes fluttered closed and darkness enveloped him.
He awoke to the sound of sirens drawing close and the phone in his pocket chiming. A quick check of the phone revealed two things: one, that he had only been out for a few minutes; and two, a message that simply read "Escape." Salvatore looked over at Jenna and the growing pool of blood. He hadn't intended to kill her. He knew it was always a possibility in a fight like this, and he had been aiming to end the fight...but he still didn't want it to end like that.
There would be enough time for that later. Right now, he needed to not be caught right near the dead woman. With a great amount of effort, he pulled himself to his feet. He dragged himself over to where Antonio had been flung, shaking him. "Hey, get up. We've gotta go." Hopefully Antonio still had some energy left in him. Otherwise Salvatore would have to carry him...and still being exhausted, he wasn't sure how far they'd get. On top of that, they still needed to find Keith, wherever he had run off to. "C'mon," he tried again. "we need to get out of here sooner rather than later!"
