I have to say I love the suit acting of Seiji Takaiwa in this series even more then I did in Decade and Kabuto.

Especially the scenes in the Opening when you see the different forms of Double. How he stands and how he handles the Metal Shaft screams bad ass coolness:buttrock:

Well what else did you expect from the Tokusatsu GOD? He just rocks that hard:castlerock:

Holy crap...

Ws first episode got a rating of..........

10.2 %!!!!

Holy crap! It took Agito's world for Decade's ratings to get that high!

Yeah, when he's in Cyclone/Metal and he just flips the Metal Shaft on his leg was really cool. And what about the Trigger forms when he's spinning the Trigger Magnum on his finger. Like a badass detective.

He even looks Bad Ass when he does nothing.
When he is in LunaMetal Form and turns away from the camera transporting the Metal Shaft on his back just looks so damn awesome.

I'm not gonna lie, I've replayed that scene a ridiculous amount of times just to catch those small things that makes Takaiwa Seji the fucking MAN.:buttrock:
This might go up there with Agito and Kabuto. (Please don't let me eat my own words)

- What..... how the hell do sparks fly out from a man, in normal clothing, who has been shot?? Really, it's stupid. I hate it when that happens. I'm not asking for lots of blood splatter and gore, but come on, what happened to more realistic scenes that Toei had?

- That has to be among the most ridiculous outfits worn by a law official. And people thought Phillip's costume was weird...

- I like the OP's 70s-style beginning, but the rest of the song is "eh". Maybe the full song will be a bit better.

- It's nice to see a Rider actually use his bike for personal transport again. But it would be a better idea to ride a less conspicuous one when "off-duty". Kabuto and Kiva had this problem too. Really, how many bikes do you see with horns and tail-like things coming out of it?

And also, this bike has three modes (so far). The rear halves are supposed to be stored in RevolCarry's wheel thing. But the Cyclone half is there all the time? I don't like that...

- Finally, some new locales. I'm getting really tired of Toei filming at the same places year after year.

- Shotaro sort of resembles Tendou is some shots.

- I like the music from 5:01 - 5:22. Sounds like something ripped from a 70s-80s show.

- A funny waddling scene from 8:07 - 8:13. :p

- Akiko is irritating, but that seems to be the trend with post-Kabuto female Rider leads. I think Ryuki (or maybe Hibiki) was the last show to have some really good female characters that weren't just punching bags or "look at me, I'm cute... and that's all I can do" types.

I like Marina though. She seems more reserved.

- You know Toei, why don't you just go ahead and revive Metal Hero? It's obvious someone in your organization wants to, but every wild idea that's conjured up these days gets shoehorned into KR. Beetle phones, spider watches and bat cameras? And giant trailers and two years back dimension-jumping trains? Seriously... just come out and do it. You'll probably get more respect than simply slapping the Rider brand name on everything.

- It's good to see, after a long time, the leaders of the organization revealed in the first episode.

But those were Sayako's parents? I've never been that fond of such parent-child scenarios. It's always hard to imagine yourself and your family in that type of situation.

- 'Injury' Gaia Memory? What the heck does that do? The kaijin this time around are really dubious. That's sort of a nice thing,I suppose. It's fresh in any case.

- Akiko looks cute with a blanket over her head hugging a pillow.

- Den-O SFX at 17:07!

- Togawa Yousuke looks creepy. Actually, he looks like a ghoulish cross between Ashihara Ryo and a Grongi.

These cities are sure filled with weirdos...

- So not all the Dopants use belts?

- Shotaro and Phillip have all their Memories, yet Bandai insists on their odd method of packaging the toys? What a ripoff. But I guess they may be cynically thinking that no one would buy such cheap, not-to-scale junk like the Metal Shaft and Trigger Shot (are those the names) without a more valuable Memory to go with them.

- Speaking of Memories, I don't like this "press the button" thing they do before insertion, especially when the belt just says the same thing afterward five seconds later. It's redundant.

And that belt needs Memory holsters. It looks just as naked without them as the Saga, Rey and Arc belts did.

- Voice blending. That's a much appreciated improvement over Den-O, which only did that for, what, three episodes before shutting out Ryo and Yuuto's voices entirely.

- ... What exactly does stretching ability have to do with "Luna"? Is this some obscure references to tides? In any event it looks rather lame. And so does that Kick. If they're going to do a split like that, why not a "bunshin" like Garren's Burning Divide in Blade?

- Cliffhanger ending. Typical. Why don't you surprise your audience with a debut that only has one episode to it?

- Is that Nobuhiko Tanaka at 23:37?

Not a bad start. Right now I only have two issues:

1) This cast is way too young for a detective show. Ren Kiriyama and Masaki Suda are hardly convincing as these skilled investigators. (I think, in W's case, it may stem from Sanjo's manga speciality. I'm no expert, but such things I don't think are too unfamiliar in that genre) The regular cops were played by far more appropriate actors. Why can't they get more people like that to play heroes? Someone should get Hibiki's casting director back, that person knew what he was doing.

2) I think this show would work a lot better were it not part of the Rider franchise, but it's own thing. Toei used to make lots of superhero shows. Now all they do is Sentai and Rider. And while Sentai sems more or less stable in its ideas, as I said before, every wild idea that Toei comes up with gets dumped into Rider, and the writers are told "make a show out of this". Toei should start taking chances again and diversify its toku pool.

Seiji Takaiwa always plays very different but you can totally say it´s him when you know his work.

The way Kiva puts his fuestles in,Decade his Cards and W his Gaia Memories Takaiwa always does it the same way but slightly different so it´s apropriat to the character.
And his feminine touch to the movements of Decade looked pretty nice and fittet Tsukasas character.
