It reminds me of when the Supernatural: the Animation's first promo was released and I heard "seishu" or something and I knew his girlfriend's name was Jessica.

I've seen Star Wars cakes, but I don't remember Power Rangers cakes. That actually is not the point. It's not a company that is working with Toei that is producing all those cakes. Those Star Wars cakes aren't paying any of Geroge Lucas' royalties.

So you're going to assume something when there is no real evidence to support it? From what it appeared through her behavior, Kei (the surgeon) seemed more like a burden than an asset to the team. No one apparently can control her. Perhaps her reputation has nurtured arrogance. I don't see the supposed sexism here.

Maybe it's like that ST:TNG episode where this surgeon has developed a breakthrough operating procedure that reverses paralysis, but Crusher bans her from practicing due to her recklessness.

Well like I said, the evidence is right there when the guy who replaced her was being a total douche about it and not handling it in a professional manner where he just apologizes and/or just leaves.

Normally if you were to have a good reputation to the point where people come to the organiztion / establishment just to see you, then I don't think its purely arrogance that can lead you to behave like that.

She does seem a little obbsessive and possesed, but it says in the episode that she hasn't held a scalpel for over a month now, and as a surgeon if you're job is not to operate then what are you supposed to do? sweep floors?

Also when the director told her to back off he didn't explain why he had to hold her back, just a simple "if-you-don't-stop-I'll-demote-you-to-janitor" type of thing :sweat: And we all know how some fields can be when it comes to a women outdoing a man in the workplace, and the need to hold her back is necessary because it would make everyone look bad..... specifically those certain males who are in power.

Now whether they are being sexist towards her or there's simply another reason behind it, we'll just have to wait until the next episode reveals more to us. Overall I'm just praising the episode on bringing up an issue like this (especially on a kids show) and I'm eager to see how they deal with it. :coolshades:

HMm........fishcakes.... need to try em again to see if I actually like them or not, the first time I had them was at a local JPnese restaraut DT, and it wa kind of awkward..... but I believe in giving 2nd chances, especially with foods. That's how I got into eating natto

The Greeds are attracted to humans' greed. Kei has an obsessive compulsion, a greed, to perform top-notch work at whatever the cost. If this was really a case of discrimination, she would be a sympathetic figure. But the Greeds prey on people's negative emotions.

Yeah.... because these are two-parter episodes where not everything is revealed in the first part. This kind of thing has been going on since at least Kabuto.

But you don't know if they even brought up an issue. You're just jumping to conclusions. It could just happen to be a female character in this position. Why does it automatically have to be sexism?
