Kamen Rider OOO - Talk Up!

So each Greed has their own style of making Yummies, instead of all of them just falling out the hosts' bodies instantly? That's nice to hear. What would the other two's and Ankh's styles be then?

I'm not really too sure, but we'll have to see it when the time comes.

- I love that we've been given a bunch of new location shots and I hope it's something that can be kept up for most of the series.

- It's also interesting to see the rapport between Eiji and Ankh, they've definitely got different ways of doing things and it seems like it'll play out a bit better than the relationship between Momotaros and Ryoutarou in that this is at least somewhat more realistic especially when it comes to battle.

- So far the series seems to be doing a good job of actually using the boatload of toys it has. The cans are definitely going to come in handy, definitely better rendered Disc Animals.

- Giving the Yummy different forms of materializing is something I didn't think we would get to see and I'm not sure how often we'll be seeing this, but it was at least fun to watch in this episode. Also great to see how the Yummy's host has been in pain through the whole thing (that sounds weird but, eh), I do like seeing the type of suffering they can inflict on a more personal level.

- ...oho. Well that was a totally subtle-in-every-way-possible iPhone plug.

- For some reason I expected the Cosplay lady to have a bigger role, not sure why I'm surprised that it doesn't seem to be that way so far.

- ...yeah. Those cans are definitely going to come in handy. That was a very creative way of using it and I couldn't help but chuckle at the steak carrying hawk.

- Kay, that fight against the Cat Yummy was a little silly, but I enjoyed it. Found myself smiling seeing Eiji's futile efforts in smacking the thing around with his sword in quick succession.

- The fight itself wasn't the greatest, but it definitely showed some interesting flares and wire work at points. Loved that shot of Eiji transforming, hope this is the sort of thing that can keep up throughout the series. The Rider Kick was...interesting, actually enjoyed the weird leg transformation.

It was a good episode, but it seems like Eiji himself isn't too incredibly important to the plot just yet. That flashback to the little girl he couldn't save seems to be building to something important, but...Eiji should still be made an interesting character while that's happening. It's basically "I want to help people!" and not much else at this point. I'm going to hope that changes later on, but at least in the meantime we're seeing some decent developments with Ankh. Also, the one thing I really do enjoy about the series so far is that, even with Os showing up only at the end of the episode, it's good to see that it's not like Kiva and basically tosses away the tokusatsu element to deal with other junk. I like seeing these shows keep the focus on the tokusatsu element and that's the one thing I really do love so far about Os.

Sorry for the multi-quotes here, but the post was interesting to read.

Yeah, I feel that Ankh is what Momo should have been like if he was more...kaijin-ish. Ankh is like if you took Chalice and made him have a darker presence instead of being affably evil.

Very much this. You can't say that having the Taka and Tako cans are completely random and ineffectual to the plot with the clever ways Eiji's been using them.

I was like "Oh...hi, iPhone 4. I guess you want me to buy you."
but...Eiji should still be made an interesting character while that's happening. It's basically "I want to help people!" and not much else at this point.
Isn't that...a good thing? Like all they want to do is help people and not go all introspective about it? Like how Godai's thing is just he wants to protect people's smiles and that's all he needs.

Definitely. These two do play off each other so well because of the sharp contrast in personalities and the fact that Ankh is basically willing to let people get killed.

Well, yes and no. This is sort of the problem I had with Shotaro. He's got a well defined mission, but there just isn't much more to his character. I suppose it could be because the show itself didn't give him a lot of screen time in this episode and we just don't know too much about him just yet. I'd like to see the character expanded upon and take charge of things, otherwise it just seems like he's the happy guy who wants to help people and nothing more. If a character has to be like that, I would like for the character to reflect on his actions every now and then. Either way, it's early series, so I imagine it'll eventually happen.

I liked the fight, but if we're going to keep having sentai-style wirework... :disappoin Takaiwa can do so much cool stuff, especially now that he's out of the man-corset....

Well, we got our cool Rider Kick (at least OOO's kick is more palatable than Double's). If Den-O is any indication, expect ur bike action to come soon.

What I don't get about this show is that they take scenes like Ankh's and Hina's meeting and turn it comedic with the sound effects and music. OOO's premise isn't what's ridiculous. It's Toei for some reason trying to make it more upbeat or sillier than necessary. People are saying they see an echo of Kuuga here and I think I can agree. Which begs the question of what this show would be like had it been made ten years ago.

And Japanese women in sarees? Now I've seen everything.
