Kamen Rider Gaim - Lock 01 "Transform! An Orange From The Sky!?"

Having the orange appear from the sky & then placed on Kota's head for the henshin is probably meant for today's episode.

nope, it's suppose to be the normal henshin(the whole gimmick is giant fruits forming armor for the riders). as for the inside shot of kota inside the orange and the helmet forming, that might only be for this episode.

Your a KARA fan, now that is Amazing because KARA is a my all time favorite K-Pop group

Really?! Awesome. :D Same here. Message me!

So it looks like this year's opening has more easter eggs than usual.
Definitely.

Gaim is definitely revealing a lot of stuff prior instead of keeping it secret like usual as well. I feel like Suika arms won't even come out till like episode 10 and Griton won't be a main for a while either but both of them were shown clearly. Also the opening has a lot of symbolism, it's pretty cool.

The Guriton from the battle scenes are probably the equivalent of ZectTroopers and RiotTroopers.

I feel that way too. I remember Urobuchi saying he wanted the pinecone Riders to be weaker than the fruit Riders.

Also regarding Ryugen - I feel like he'll want to fight with Gaim (and most likely will) but is held back by his bro Zangetsu. Which is why he's not with Gaim in the intro.

My real question is why is Gaim on a horse while Baron is on a bike?

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that thought Kota's introduction was a deliberate homage to Godai's introduction in Kuuga. Though Odagiri still is better at the whole 'aloof-but-kind' air that Sano is trying to convey as Kota.

There was a lot of exposition in the first episode and it was really refreshing. I loved just being introduced to everyone and we just get a lot on who Kota is in the first episode, something interesting considering how in the past we haven't really gotten a lot of backstory on the protagonists usually until the middle of the series. Hell, we didn't even know much about Godai's past until Episode 11 or so where he finally learned his Rider Kick against Zu-Zain Da.

Even the fight scene was reminiscent of Kuuga from the high angles on top of a high building, and the whole area that they fought in was the exact same place as Kuuga's battle with the Ginoga clone.

The opening scene was cool, the opening credits seem kinda lame honestly, but the song makes up for it. I also loved the CGI with the alternate dimension where the Invass is from. Plus the Yggdrasil corporation building is very cool. Very Smart Brain-esque and I love how it's built in the shape of a tree.

The mysterious girl is already giving me Koyomi vibes so hopefully it doesn't turn out that way.

And Guu-san is the radio DJ? How cool! Go Guu-san!

In the battle at the beginning, he was basically forced to be subservient to Zangetsu, so you're probably right. According to the character bios though, he is secretly jealous of Kota's freedom, so maybe that will come between them.

IIRC, the promo material suggested either multiple Guritons, or that Guriton would be one of multiple nut/seed-based Riders that are weaker than the fruity ones. I agree that one of them could be Zack (Baron's deputy who threatened Mai and has a Donguri Lockseed) or the other dude who cheated to make Mai lose and is also seen in the OP/at the press conference.

If Yuuya doesn't turn up dead I wonder if he'll be an evil Rider. He disappeared after finding a Sengoku Driver and was obviously up to something shady with the dealer ...

So I've got a theory on Yuuya. What if he, after obtaining the driver, he happened upon the same opening Kota went through to the other world?
There seems to be something about that place that draws you in, like when Kota is about to take a bite out of the fruit it almost seems like hes in some sort of trance. But then the girl distracts him and he snaps out of it. Maybe Yuuya took a bite and was transformed into that first Inves we saw Gaim fighting.

Also I just realized why they're called the inves; its an anagram of vines. clever!:)

Oh god... That's brutal! This makes perfect sense though. Maybe they'll reveal it later in the series causing the characters to have a mental breakdown and everything.

I kind of hope not. I hope Yuuya plays a bigger role eventually, not just appearing in one episode. Regardless, he seemed shady.

i don't think this was mentioned before, but there's also seems to be a zipper motif in this series at well, in this case the alternate dimension and the inves monsters.
