I don't buy all the excusing of Ryusei's actions because "he'll be forgiven, kids need to know it's OK to make mistakes." No. All the KRC have made mistakes and done something stupid or selfish, such as JK stealing Gentaro's Switch. That message has already been taught.

Ryusei, on the other hand, lies constantly to everyone, pretends to be people's friends while acting against them behind their backs, manipulates the KRC for his own purposes, betrays Gentaro and then murders him. Even the Horoscopes have never killed anyone (unless Gamou is a Horoscope) - the same characters who are said to have lost their humanity, and get sent to the Dark Nebula because they can't be redeemed. Ryusei is now the second most evil character in the show. But, never mind, at least he doesn't believe in boring kiddy things like friendship and being nice. That makes everything sooooo much better :rolleyes2:

Like I said before, I won't be surprised if Ryuusei used some magical martial arts technique that only stops Gentaro's heart temporarily.

I wonder what it was like back in 2000 when [hide]Godai died from being poisoned or in 2002 when Shinji died. Were people actually worried or was it just "Oh, they'll be back next episode; I already read the spoilers"?[/hide]

Godai's death was a hell of a lot more traumatic than Gen's that's for sure. I couldn't watch Kuuga for awhile after he died, and Ichijou going to his sister and telling him the bad news only made it worse.

I can only hope Gen's return will be just as dramatic as Godai's.

I've only seen Kuuga once. I have no memory of Godai dying. I can vaguly remember a scene described with the sister, but I can't remember where about that was.

He gets poisoned by a Grongi and we see Odagiri on the ground convulsing, and as he is moved to a hospital, Tsubaki tries to save him but his heart gives out and Ichijou goes around telling everyone about his death. I believe that was the 19th episode of Kuuga. It was after the first clip episode and the debut of TryGouram.

Going by the heart monitor effect his heart did stop.

I'm guessing that the Medical Switch is going to be using in the next episode.

As someone pointed out previously ... the Medical Switch counters the effects of Cosmic Energy, so it wouldn't work on a punch. It's possible that Medical would have worked on Jirou, but Ryusei would surely have tried to use it if he thought that were the case, and Aries will probably wake up Jirou now anyway

Since I don't always watch the subs, something I wondered: Is it clear that Jirou was really Ryusei's friend? We heard him say something about friendship being weak/useless, and I'm not entirely sure that was the effects of the Switch, since the scene suggested to me that when the Switch blew up it was the first time he had used it. I wondered if Jirou might be someone that Ryusei admired and wanted to be friends with, or someone who he thought was a friend but really wasn't ...

We don't even know if Jirou will accept Ryuusei after he awakens. For all we know, he still might hate Ryuusei. But Ryuusei said that once he awakens Jiro and then deactivates the Switch, he would be back to normal in the last episode.

I have feeling Ryusei wants Aries' help so to do that he needs to earn his trust. So basically he killed Gentarou to do that.
