The name "Drive" makes me hope we'll see much much more bike-riding scenes (or a lot of car-riding scenes if this series is car-themed).......in battle, not just to get around.

I hope it includes another bike finisher.

There was a Kamen Rider anime, based on the showa riders, saw it on youtube years ago, kinda of gag cartoon.

I agree 100%. Kiva had nothing to do with that. I only toku I know of that was directly inspired by movies was from Super Sentai. Zyuranger was based off the success of Jurassic Park and Magiranger from Harry Potter. So if anything hope for Super Sentai to become an anime and/or influenced from it. Kamen Rider as an anime is a big no no. It's fine the way it is.

Except that Zyuranger predated Jurassic Park by a whole year. Besides, we all know it was actually Hurricanger that was inspired by Harry Potter. :thumbs:

IIRC, it was MMPR that was chosen to take advantage of Jurassic Park hype.

Saban were going to pick Jetman at first, but then changed their pick to Zyuranger because of Jurassic Park.

That's what I've heard, anyway.

I doubt the people at Toei knew about the making of Jurassic Park when Zyuranger was in works. I do remember hearing that most people feel like Ryuki was made to cash in on Yu-Gi-Oh. Both have cards and monsters, both are also have a similar target audience of the ages of 5 - 13.

To be honest in my opinion I hope it isn't vehicle themed at all. I'm hoping that the name is similar to Kamen Rider Blade where it was just a name and not actually about Blades. His name was Blade but the theme was cards.

I highly doubt that it will be anything but what the name suggests. But a man can dream.....

Actually, it's referring to the Spade theme of Blade's suit. The meaning behind it is with the Suit (card, not the actual armor) represents swords in European symbology. So really, Blade is wearing a Suit of Blades.

It doesn't stop with just him though. Chalice's name was a literal translation of the Hearts symbology, and even that water splashing effect whenever he transformed is an homage to it. Leangle wielded a staff, or Wand if you really wanted to stretch the meaning, for the Clubs. Garren is the only one I'm not sure about with his symbolism (Earth and Coins).

Not to mention, Kamen Rider Blade's weapon was a blade.

It'll be cool if Kamen Rider Drive is a little like Knight Rider!

Apart of me wants cars for the gimmick. I grew up with Hot Wheels, so I would buy the cars for the belt in a heartbeat.
