Kamen Rider Double Rumor/Picture Thread

Why do I suddenly get the feeling W's quality is about to go down in the near future? >>

I'm trying to stay optimistic (W sounded horrible on paper), but I do have to say these rumors are starting to worry me. They smack of the invisible hand of Toei sweeping into the show to say "PUT IN MORE STUPID STUFF."

The whole purpose of Toei adding new stuff is to keep the show interesting. But no matter what, the characters will always come first.

Man, I wish that was the case with Toei's tokusatsu lately. To my eyes Toei seems very willing to sacrifice characterization if it means getting to issue more toys.

Agito, Faiz and Kiva all have the same writer. Yet Faiz and Kiva are a step down from Agito.

Ryuki and Den-O both have the same writer. Yet Den-O is a step down from Ryuki.

Kabuto was full of veteran writers, yet none of them could write a coherent story around all the merchandise-driven stuff in that show.

Maybe Sanjo is competent enough to continue writing a quality script despite more obligatory merchandise-plugging. I doubt all of this was his idea. But given the past, there is good reason to have doubts.

I don't see why you're reacting so badly to this. That list basically only confirms a second Rider and his basic equipment.

Writing this character shouldn't be any harder than writing about the other Dophants just because he'll be called a "Rider".

Toei need make more money! Who cares about the script only the fights count! Our toys consumers are kids! I guess Toei don't care about script rather release more merchandise for sales.

While that may be the case a lot of the time with Toei, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on this one. Unless the new Rider premieres and it's horrible. But seeing as how Double has been doing better than my anticipations rather than the opposite, I'm optimistic.

Kabuto only had two writers, Inoue and Yonemura, Inoue did all the episodes that focused on Tsurugi and Daisuke, which I guess would explain a bit of a disconnect with the rest of the story.
