Kamen Rider Decade rumor/picture thread

For those that don't remember/ don't know, the kid playing young Wataru also played Kid Jan in gekiranger.

It was a great moment to have chibi geki red running at half size:laugh:

Oh so that's him. Kids getting his work and making money, haha. I like that, at such a young age too.:buttrock:

Even though its 30 eps this might be one of the best series yet because of the time, effort and love put into it.

Very true.

The Ryuki & Knight re-casts look shitty. Also, is that Crisis in the corner?.

That's an interesting look at the numbers, but the thing is, Geass is the only time this model was used that way. You could debate how successful that was, but Geass R2's production was messed from so many angles it's not a great example.

And if I were only talking about those two shows I would agree with you, however half-series seem to be something of a trend in anime production recently....

Birdy the Mighty
Druaga no Tou
Shikabane Hime
Slayers Evolution
Zoku Natsume
Spice and Wolf
Vampire Knight
Rosario to Vampire
Shugo Chara!
Code-E
Wellber no Monogatari
Sisters of Wellber
Clannad TV
Godannar

All of these (and more!) did the "half now, half later" approach, mostly for production cost reasons. The number of shows doing this isn't going down, it's going UP!

Besides, why should people here be complaining...If Decade gets 2 seasons of 30 episodes then it gets 60 total episodes instead of 49! You have to wait, but you might get a bonus 11 episodes!

See, that would be fine but the thing is with all those shows you mentioned from before, we already knew that those shows were getting second parts later. The production had already said it. We are not sure whether Decade is getting a second season or not since that article said that it would tell the "whole story" in 30 episodes. But hey, maybe the story will actually be good and entertaining. At least I hope so.

Besides, after seeing the WTF-ness of episode 1, and the fact that the OP is sung by Gackt, I can see that they may not even be able to afford more than 30 episodes.

It's tough to judge a Kamen Rider series on the budget of the first few episodes though, because they tend to sink a lot into the first few episodes to start strong and then cut back in the middle episodes before finishing strong again. I think it's very possible this series will be shorter but higher budget, but we'll have to wait and see. (Keep in mind, by using old suits and older CGI models, they're saving huge amounts on production costs anyways.)

As for knowing those shows were getting the half/half treatment, that is true, but what is also true is that anime have a much longer production time schedule than live-action shows do. Those breaks had to be planned and known far in advance of the actual show being aired. With live-action TV there's a much shorter lead time, and they're often filming just a month or two ahead of actual release. I doubt they've filmed even the middle of Decade yet, and are probably waiting on the ratings (and toy sales) before they decide where they're going to go next.

It's a "reimagining" of the nine riders and remember that these parallel worlds are more of a homage to the previous shows in a way. If you want Suga and Odagiri in your Decade then write a fanfic or make a lot of money somehow and film your own show casting the previous actors folks. Just let it do its thing. Plus, who knows if after the worlds are realigned we will see past actors play their original roles? Seto Koji came back and there is always a possibility. So for now, just sit and watch. If it still bothers you, then go watch Precure for all I care.

Hopefully the subs will answers some questions. Natsumi grabbed an old version of the Decade belt from one shifting world.

The belt had all the powers in it already but when it was reintroduced to Tsukasa it "reformated" to new.

Now Tsukasa has to reacquire the forms by defeating past riders.

Or the belt comes loaded with a basic 10 riders then in order to keep those riders you must contract with the real deal.

Wataru in the show said how he destroyed them all, so I think he acquired them in the Rider Wars Natsumi saw in her dream.
