Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger Vs. Gavan

The dragon's still CG , so no.

The movie may be good, but why didn't they repro the Dragon robot puppet from Gavan instead of using garrish out of place CG?

Can't wait to see it.

I prefer a lot more CG than fake stupid puppets.

Long live CG.

It's mostly because the puppet version would look terrible with today's HD camera technology. Which is what it is, since they would rather replace models, stop-motion puppets, etc with CG. Thus it's a lost art.

I would imagine a lot of those duties and talents can be found in some of the people who already work on the giant battles. Even if it doesn't happen too much, on occasion we do get things like that rhino mech in Gekiranger or the Engines who move around in their untransformed state a bit.

Then at least have the CGI be good, it's all relatively "fake" either way.

I prefer miniatures because they can mimic movements you just can't get with the render and modeling processes that go into CGI'ing something up. That and they always look more fitting than CGI, big budget CGI doesn't always blend in well with the surroundings, it's going to be even more obvious with low budget CGI. Even if the CGI was great, those miniatures are always going to look better IMO.

Puppets can look a lot better than CGI.

Hell, most of UltraSeven's special effects and miniature work look better than that bullshit.

And it's from the freaking 60s-let alone how much better the ACTUAL Gavan Space Dragon looked.
