I think often even when the Rider suits are total Bandai bullshit, the monster designs aren't bad at all and they're still cool as a threat but you're just not getting that same level of menacing atmosphere because the show isn't really written or directed that way.
When does this happen?
Well yeah they do represent death, still...Ooh, forgot.
Yeah, my only complaint about the Orphnochs is that they're monochrome, but if you think about the fact that they represent death...
Nope, the guy in the group.^ Yuka Osada/Crane? I think
I can recognize those beside Bat Orphenoch, they don't really give me a big enough impact to remember them. Then again, maybe it's just cause I'd watched the series like years ago, and I only remember those really important orphenochs. I don't even recall how those MoTW Orphenochs looks like anymore. >< Gotta say, Orphenoch's not on my list of favorite monsters designs.^ He's talking about Kaido, Snake Orphenoch who also played Juuzo in Shinkengers.
@Oblivion: Well, sorry to hear that you have trouble recognizing the details, it's understandable I guess, but some guys like me easily recognize the details in the Orphenochs, especially some cool combination of concepts.
Horse Orphenoch = Greek Warrior + Centaur
Bat Orphenoch = Cowboy + Bat
Snake Orphenoch = Snakeskinned leather jacket dude + Snake
etc.
Yeah, I know Kusaka wasn't an Orphnoch, but he took up alot of screen time with his douchebaggy-ness. And when I said hiding, I meant the Squid. Because he hid from the Lucky Clover.@Oblivion: Hmmm... Weird, I always loved the Bat Orphenoch, he was just badass, like a regular hired gunslinger... Probably why I liked Ryuutaros / Den-O Gun Form so much since he reminded me of the former... And I did watch Faiz during the year it was aired, so it was years ago and I still remember them.
@Smilodon: Well, yeah, but I thought the point was those dead people are still people too, like the Squid Orphenoch who didn't want to kill anyone and wanted to live a life of a human, and also Kiba and the gang. I think it is almost similar to Dopants in the sense that they are dealing with people, and not monsters who just use human forms, but Orphenochs are darker and are more in the brink of hopelessness rather than Dopants who just gets memory break'd.
And btw, just wanted to clarify that Kusaka wasn't an Orphenoch, he was just implanted Orphenoch DNA to wear the Kaixa gear... But yeah, he's the king of assholeness.
