Kaijin Design Post-AgitΩ

Been watching AGITΩ (I love that omega sign in his name) and realize how toned downed the kaijin designs have been since well Ryuki. Don't get me wrong I like kaijin designs post-Agito (well not Ryuki really they're really bland, but I guess they're not the focus of the series so can't blame them), but the fear you have when seeing these guys is well... gone.

I dont know, I think its more about seeing what the Unknown are capable of as it is what they look like.

There method of killing is still pretty horrifying...

Agreed the method of killing is pretty gruesome. It still bothers me though. Agito is meant to be shown in a kid's timeslot, and yet it has someone dying nearly every week. Dragon Knight wouldn't mention death in their show.

I'd been watching Amazon and a tiny little bit of Stronger on Youtube without subs, I noticed that deaths are something that are normal in Kamen Rider unlike the new shows. Anyways, I think that as grusome as the deaths were, the design of the monsters and the lighting of those particular scenes had also contributed to make them look so scary. I actually wish that Double would have some monster that can creep us out visually. OOO doesn't seem to be a likely candidate... >_>

It's the difference between Japanese and American TV.

A creepy monster doesn't suit a relatively light-hearted series like Double, IMO.

The writers really got away with a lot of things in Agito.
I mean... they showed a rotten corpse. That is a bit extreme, even for a toku show.

I think it's because the Grongi and the Lord's are very Showa inspired.
With Ryuki they started using more contemporary theme's and designs.

I'm sorry, but this has to be said.

I don't know what's scarier about the bat-grongi; it's fangs, or that it has nipple piercings.

Yeah, I really think its more about what the kaijin are capable of and their background. The Grongi were originally humans, so its obvious they're humanoid, and their kingstone thingy within them made them mutate into Orphnoch-like animal based monsters. Except their method of killing was a bit more vicious. As in you had people who were run over by bikes, sniped, faces clawed out and being pulverized by 10 ton iron balls and decapitated.

The Lords, were Angels. Being an Angel gave them special priveleges, like picking people up in the air and throwing them into light poles, calling upon lightning to kill them, melting them and drowning them. People's images of Angel's are humanoid, so its most likely why they're humanoid.

I think the reason why the Grongi/Lords designs are similiar in some aspects is because of Grongi-Lord relationship. Where the Lords protected humans from Grongi until Kuuga came or something
