Joss Whedon = S.H.I.E.L.D. the TV Series

A while back I posted a link saying Whedon was going to develop a show for ABC that would take place in the marvel cinematic universe. Well apparently ABC just ordered a pilot for a S.H.I.E.L.D. tv show with Joss at the helm.

Joss also got Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen to be one the show, who were great in Dr. Horrible

I'm not so sure on how i feel about this, Joss Whedon is just the bees knees, but S.H.E.I.L.D., and their agents just dont interest me, I dunno I guess we will see.

What interests me is that means he can really get intimate and creative with the cast without having to worry about stepping on toes or things he can or cannot do with a given character.

He could potentially have free reign with the B to D list cast of Marvel characters and maybe have cameo's from a A-lister or two.

Now that would be something I would enjoy seeing maybe like a back up avengers, but then I could see marvel wanting to put all of the characters that they are thinking about for movies in the show, and make it a sort of, hey this guys cool, get hyped for the movie with him.

Cobie Smulders should leave "How I Met Your Mother" and be the lead in this new show. How awesome would it be for her character to get fleshed out more? And then come back for Avengers 2?

And her spandex suit wouldn't hurt either...
