How would Disney adapt..."Kamen Rider Hibiki?" LMAO

You know, I still haven't seen the American Godzilla yet.

And absolutely, you can have an opinion. What I was saying, and I apologize for the rude tone, is that adaptations aren't always a mistake.

If you want to learn from one, PR would be it as it's been a money maker for longer than any other American kids action show. GS could succeed the same, provided they did it well and not garbage like saaaaay Tatooed Teenage Alien Fighter Stuffnjunk.

I'm glad it's getting a straight dub and I hope it suceeds, but.... you know how this has gone in the past.

Maybe this time'll be different.

I'm just saying adaptations aren't always a mistake, especially if they're done right and well.

Wait... you haven't seen the American Godzilla movie? If you don't, that's good.

Oh gosh, please don't go there. The movie was horrible. It was completely disgrace to whole classic Godzilla.

I despise dubs, but our only experience with a dubbed tokusatsu has been Tiga, pretty much. And don't you think that failed because of the lame-ass jokes? I mean, really, I've seen funnier stuff on "Two and a Half Men," and that's the worst show on television. So, if they're faithful to Gransazer...it would still suck, actually. :confused2

Well there were dubbing show like Ultraman and Spectreman for example back in the 60-80. And from what I understand those dubs were pretty close to the orginal material. And fondly remembered I might add. Why they decided a newer show like Tiga needed to be funny-ed up is anybody guess.

Unfortuatley I can't tell. I was critical as a kid and whatnot of my cartoons, but kids in general aren't. They MAY have been turned off by the simple fact that the production was far too alien for them.

OR maybe it was that the dub was so...... stupid. I mean, I tried to watch it but the "jokes" were just so insulting I couldn't stand it.

I'd like to see how a straight dub would work, but to your regular kid and person, I think they'd dismiss and laugh it off faster than they did Power Rangers... whish remains popular dispite to this day.

So yeah, I would like to see how a proper dub was handled, BUT....... honestly, at this time in our society, I can't see it fairing well.

Tokusatsu seems to be something so unique and special that only the most special person can truely understand and appreciate it. My friends who are all open minded and special to a degree stilll find Tokusatsu too weird.

So if you can't tempt the guy who's got a 20 sided die in his hand or the guy who's imorted the Capcom X Namco RPG who also loves his anime that Tokusatsu can be cool.... how is your average motherlover off the street suppose to get it?

I hope I'm wrong.

Cuz once upon a looooooooooooong time ago I remember heairng about the Mighty Morphing Power Rangers and I was pretty set on hating it and convinced that it'd be cancelled withing 10 episodes at the extreme max.... and low and behold it's the longest running show of its kind.

So yeah... I hope that maybe things have changed once again in America's children that maybe Japanese television can gain a foothold.

Until then, I don't mind adaptations, so long as you're going to do them good, cuz I want little kids to know the legends of Toksuatsu, no matter if it's a Japanese guy in the role or American. I want them on the front lawns wearing morphers and belts, side by side battling against the forces of darkness.

Dude...nice to see the adaptation psychosis is still in full swing. :P

If you think that's bad...you should see what's being written on Fanfic.Net...

Yep. But hey, at least the Cartoon series started acknowledging the Japanese material.

In terms of entertainment, you can basically do anything until someone gets offended. Then you have to stop. But until someone speaks, do whatever the hell you want
