I'm only up to episode 10, but I haven't given up yet, so that's a good sign. It's ridiculous as hell, and there's quite a bit that I dislike about it, not the least of which being the Dopant (guess they just got tired of trying?), but it's fun in a kind of silly way and at least it doesn't take itself too seriously. Some pretty good action, too, when it's not tripping over it's own special effects (FFFFFFUCK "Luna" Memory). Also, I can't say I've exactly taken to the giant monster forms or the dumb vehicles Double uses to fight them, but so far that's been pretty minimal. The detective/noir concept is kind of hit or miss with me because I'm a gigantic fan of pulp detective fiction, and while I enjoy catching some of the references to the classics, I feel like it really just doesn't mesh all that well with something as outlandish as Toku, because for that to be a viable combination (which it's not), one of the genres has to be twisted almost beyond recognition, in this case the noir angle, which I find unfortunate. I'd probably like it a lot more if it were just a J-drama focused on the mysteries and the agency, but for what it is, it's not so bad.
