What Are the Best Films for a Gritty Noir Double Feature?

I'm in the mood for a classic film night and thought a gritty noir double feature would hit the spot. I'm thinking something along the lines of "The Maltese Falcon," but I'd love to hear what other films pair well with it. Any recommendations for another noir that complements the themes or vibes of "The Maltese Falcon"?

For a great pairing with "The Maltese Falcon," I'd definitely recommend "Chinatown." The twisted plot and neo-noir aesthetics really complement the classic feel of Falcon. Both films dive deep into corruption and moral ambiguity, plus Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway bring that grittiness to life in a way that feels timeless.

Another fantastic option could be "The Big Sleep." The banter and chemistry between Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall is electric, and it adds a different layer to the whole noir experience. Are you leaning more towards classic or neo-noir for your double feature?
