How do you feel about Double so far?

W's not bad-looking by Toei standards. The W CGI is still disappointing, though, Ultraman shows made a couple years ago still look better.

I don't quite get why modern Ultraman always has CGI that's so much better than than any of the Toei shows I've seen.
I tend to think the CGI in Ultraman is actually pretty poor, it's only until they were bought out did it become better, but that CGI hasn't actually made it into any of the shows just yet.

Double has really stood out in CGI to me outside of that first scene in episode one, I think the worst example of its CGI is...in those episodes involving Wakana, there's a scene that shows Double jumping out of a body of water and it just seems like the worst CGI I have ever seen, reminded me of a very early PS1 character render.

Solid 8/10.

I like the balance of funny and seriousness, more than Den O could do (though, I liked Den O, it sometimes got annoying). The action is pretty awesome. And then there is Fang Joker which was fucking awesome. The whole Phillip and Raito gig is pretty sweet and will shake some things up. SO its overall a very good series. But with every Rider series, it has its fault.....But nothing to big to bring them down

9/10... for now.

I was really skeptical about this show when it was first announced and was cracking "Baron Ashura Rider" along with everyone else. (Hell, even the net movies made that joke.) However, once the actual show started, I have to say, this is the most consistently solid (at least so far) Rider shows I've ever seen.

The only episode I can really say any thing bad about was the first part of the Sweets arc, since it was the only time they really let Shoe Girl's perchance for WACKY MUGGING get too out of control. Even then though, the second part made it clear you were SUPPOSED to think some her actions were really stupid and addressed them in a very good way and made the character stronger for it.

The CGI... yeah it's Toei CGI. I think I've gotten used to it enough that it's quality levels don't really bug me anymore.

The real test, however, will see how it holds up when it is completed. As much as I enjoyed Decade while it was on, learning that the big spectacle was ultimately about nothing, even within its own narrative, hurts any desire to go back and watch it again later. It's like the Kamen Rider version of Seinfeld (except I hated Seinfeld the first time around too).

So far, with Double, even now, I find myself looking back at earlier episodes and going, "oh hey, so that's why...", which is the sign of a really tightly written show. The introduction of Accel will be its biggest test so far, to see if it can keep it up, but I haven't really seen a reason to worry just yet.

Also, I would like to note a slight amusement over the fact that the biggest complaint about Double so far appears to be: "There's not enough to complain about." :P

The company that owns Ultraman, Tsuburaya Productions, was formed by a special effects guy - and a special effects guy who was seen as a genius at that - so they have a lot bigger shoes to fill, and probably better resources, than Toei does.

I'm really enjoying Double at the minute... in fact, it's surpassed some of my favourites by miles. I love the designs, despite not being too sure to start with. I think Akiko's actress also brings a lot to the show, and the writers are genius enough to only have her being funny when something serious is not going on, many a time I've been in stitches with the way she reacts.
I love Philip's character too, despite having a tiring 'unknown' history.
Shotaro... well, I'm not too sure, I think in terms of the show his character is good, but I don't feel like I like the character. He's very well written though. :/

Well, I'm still stuck on episode 5, yes... I'm way behind. So, sue me! :P

I need to catch up because I found out that Accel debuts next Sunday.

Anyway, I thought this show is pretty good, but the plot is moving little bit slow and could be little bit boring. I enjoy the balance of comedy, action and drama, all three in one. I'm going to tell you the truth, the CGI sucked and it looked horrible.

I'm not going to give this show a rating. Not yet. Not now. I will have to keep it up.
