Go Go Power Rangers?

Didnt like it, you think it sucks.

Same song, different singer.

Kids love the show. And guess who the show is aimed at.

It has been said before, "Don't like it, don't watch it".

As we all know, Samurai returns October 1st. But I can't say that I'm all that excited for it. I've been rewatching the past episodes and the series is just so lifeless and dead that it makes me sad. It's depressing to know that the franchise that got me into Tokusatsu has been dragged to this level. Saban Brands doesn't view Power Rangers as a series, they view it as property. Something they can brand without having to worry about the quality of the product. This isn't Power Rangers. It's mutated blob of itself. It depresses me to know that the show will never improve under Saban and Tzachor. Jonathan is creatively killing this franchise. I want PR to be full of creative ideas, I want it to be it's own thing. Not a souless hack of Super Sentai that is devoid of any excitement or life. Wake me up when Power Rangers improves.

................alright, im gonna do it despite the risks. Part of this fanbase..............is truly pathetic. Ya'll............goodness:redface2:

OP, I can see you have passion for the franchise. So despite the dismissal from others, I give you a thumbs-up, if only for said passion. Admittedly, in reality we as grown-up children aren't the target audience, and there is indeed always the cynical option of 'if you don't like it don't watch it'. But I don't think most people can deny that they haven't felt this kind of nerdrage before.

Oh wait...you haven't? Oh, that's okay. Let me go find a few episodes of Masked Rider for you. That should induce rage...and vomiting. Possibly broken monitors too. Let's not forget the broken monitors.

Anyway...I understand the disappointment. It's sad that the production team seems to have cast away Disney's habit of gearing something at kids, but also always giving JUST enough to keep an open-minded adult interested. Originally I thought that they'd skip Shinkenger since it is very deeply rooted in Japanese culture and had a fair chance of not translating well without resorting to hokey Tropes and things or a complete re-imagining. But they went on with it and I did TRY to watch one episode, but it happened to be the adaptation of the Kotoha-centric episode with the insult-monster. The latter was good to me. It's adaptation was not. That actress...just...ugh.

Hopefully next series will be better and worth watching for us as well as the target audience. In the meanwhile, if you wanna stick it out for the sake of completeness, that's cool. If you'd rather drop it, that's cool too. Either way, do what you want, and don't let the cynics get you down. I get the feeling that they've forgotten that even they have things that they'd nerdrage about like this if they could. Or that they've done it in the past.

Ok, I'm just going to come out & say that, after having watched one single episode of Samurai, I used my super power of making inferences of things I read & watch & came to the conclusion that the writers are way better than they're pretending to be by making a show as craptastic as Samurai. They could of & should have done better. I will not watch any new PR again, thank you very much & I hope they don't ruin Kamen Rider for me too whenever Power Rider gets going.

As to the guy who says TV sucks in England, what the hell happened to Primeval & Dr. Who? Not that I particularly enjoy Dr. Who, but still...

That was a serious question by the way.

American TV is ok. We just started coming out of a Reality TV rut & I am currently watching, this year, How I met your mother, big bang theory, nikita, secret circle, terranova & grimm. Not to mention, I will try to keep up with Kamen Rider this year as I effed up trying to watch Ozu & got lost somewhere around the Latoratah intro...

then just watch kamen rider instead of power rider. This mentality the fanbase has is honestly childish to me and really needs to stop:redface2:

True, and normally I wouldn't use it, but my point in doing so is to point out that while the OP is getting mocked for disliking PR Samurai and raging about it, many, many people have raged about Masked Rider. Including, I suspect, some people here. My point is that we've ALL done what the OP has done. Why are we belittling him/her for expressing an opinion? Are we all that world-weary that we can't just support someone?

Okay, yes. There's little discussion-value in this unless someone feels like taking up devil's advocate and defending the series. That's just a cold, hard, fact. But does that really merit the kind of responses the post is getting? Everyone's becoming a bloody Cynic on the internet and it's really beginning to irk me. A Cynic only works and is cool when he or she is a lone figure or part of a smaller group within a wider variety of a cast. Snark alongside Snark is just boring. It doesn't make anyone look cool. It just makes everyone who does it look like a dick.

Again, looking like a dick, here. It's childish to nitpick, but you're saying that on a forum where things are nitpicked into ridiculousness on occasion. If expressing that opinion is childish, then go tell the people who are in all the various "claim" threads for Ranger Keys, Sentai members, etc. That they're being childish.

This thread has little discussion value, I admit that. It's someone airing their grievance and you could build a case that LiveJournal is a better place for such a thing than this. But if that were the case the better option would have been to ignore it. Not mock and belittle the opinion of the OP. If it was really bad, it would have sunk back into the second or third page and have been forgotten. But no. Everyone wants to be a cynic, everyone wants to be a dick. So now we've got people making someone else feel bad for expressing an opinion. Wonderful. Just like everywhere else on the internet. Was hoping HJU might be an exception to the growing rule...

If you look at the early posts, people didn't have a problem with him "expressing his opinion", the problem is simply ITS BEEN SAID A THOUSAND TIMES ALREADY!! EVERYWHERE WE ALL KNOW THAT. EVEN IN OTHER THREADS NOT RELATED TO SAMURAI PEOPLE HAVE TALKED ABOUT THIS FOR MAYBE 40 PAGES(that's just being generous), we really do not need another talk up about it, cause as I said before....its just been said too much.
as for "makin him feel bad" he/she is a big boy/girl, they know how ass the net can be(i hope) and lastly, even in HJU, there is gonna be crap....Im sure even Keith himself knows that....nothins perfect or without flaws...........yeah rant over

No one is saying that, but whatever.

I still agree with other people, and it goes without saying... "If you don't like it, then don't watch it." The series to many won't make a comeback (even with a whole other 22 episodes left - not including the Origins). If you haven't enjoyed the series from the start, and you're not willing to see at least the first few eps of "season 2"...do yourself a favor and star torturing yourself. Stop watching. And yes, that's exactly what you're doing and it's sad. You're allowing a television show to get you riled up, and it's not worth it.

Also, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with stating your opinion. But after opinion has been stated almost 10,000 times, it gets old. You know, just like how I always got mad about people bashing on Samurai. I moved from on that, so why can't you?
