Girlfriend advice.

you know I never knew that faded.memories and rider faiz was dating until this thread

my advice would be, do you really want a girlfriend or do u want companionship?

Yep, Rider Faiz is how I got into Kamen Rider. I have him to thank for an abundance of pretty Bishounan Japanese boys in tight tight spandex *drools*

:buttrock:

I got other interests beside my geekiest ones... though I'm pretty geeky anyway XD... but I don't go out shouting on the rooftops about them because I know not everyone is interested. Basically I only mention'em when it's brought up ya know?

You shouldn't be ashamed of liking something. Being able to just like something non-mainstream while not annoying people about it is a skill in it's own XD

They say nice guy finish last, but they finish last with the girls. A lot of girls go through a 'bad boy' phase but they eventually realise bad boys are jerks and a dime a dozen while nice guys are the real pearl.

Impulse and Undrave ~totally agree with what you said.

You have to first consider, do you want a gf - a temporary relationship to get your feet wet or do you want something lasting? And are you ready to pursue something lasting? From the responses, you might be younger than I would think, but that's up to you.

On general, be yourself. Don't go LOOKING for one in the sense of beading every female you see with the intent of "girlfriend material." Sometimes, you're lucky and you find someone. Most other times, you friend them first and see where it goes.

Most of the time, people try too hard - either to be the image they think the other person wants or to be and act like someone they're not just because. That "because" is lack of confidence. Be confident and sure of yourself. Yes, it doesn't hurt to "think" and plan a little, but in the end, girls usually want the same thing. A nice (I'll elaborate on this in a bit), responsible, caring, mature guy who is confident enough about himself and who he is to be willing to share something about himself with the girl.

As for "nice" - I think this gets lumped too much into the dichotomy of "nice" vs. "bad ass-dangerous" guys. "Nice" guys are generally labeled as doing everything and the girls complain they want someone who'se not as conceding . IMO, being "nice" doesn't mean doing everything for the girl or other person. As in everything, there's always balance. As for the "badass" guys, yeah, they might be exciting, but in the end, you don't bring assholes to meet the parents. You bring the guy who will bring flowers and his manners to the parent's front doorstep. That said, good luck. ;)

At the same time, you can be a "bad ass" and not be an "ass hole" necessarily. I'm a punk rocker, and I go to shows and get in fights and drink and do drugs and all kinds of **** that's bad for myself and others, but I'm also a really kind hearted person in a lot of ways. I'm very giving with people that are (imo) deserving.

I DO think you can still be a nice person but still have strong opinions and be willing to speak your mind even if it's the exact opposite of the popular opinion, or the opinion of "said fictious girl" that you're trying to hook up with.

Most people just seem to go too far one way or the other, a lot of so called "nice guys" are pansy pushovers and a lot of "bad asses" are actors/posers putting on a mean front (while some are just **** people)

I think if EVERYONE, men and women, could just be a little more comfortable with themselves, all this relationship **** would be easier. And yes, I'm including myself in this, because while in a lot of ways I really like myself, I could definitely use some improving.

It's all about balance.

Too much nice, and you can be a pushover.

Too much mean, and you can be a jerk who's going to get what's coming to you.

Too much confidence can turn it to arrogance.

But then again, balance can make everything work wonders.

The only real advice, I can give and offer from my psychotic relationships is simple, and many others have mentioned it, I just feel it's worth mentioning again.

Balance is great, too much, or too little of something is another story.

Don't be afraid to be yourself, if she rejects you, doesn't like you for who you are tough luck for her, shrug your shoulders, it's her loss and move on. There is always other fish in the sea, leaves in the wind, insert your own fancy saying here type things.

I'd also advise not to just go 'looking' for a relationship, just for the sake of being in one (Despite what all the pressures of life tell you), if you feel you'd like someone in your life, then you should look, but otherwise, focus on yourself, enjoy the fact that you have the extra time, money, whatever else you enjoy doing to yourself and run with it, if you get lonely, there's always the internet.

you need to be a good guy.

Beeing too nice will give the girl the impression that your just a doormat to everyone.

Beeing too much of a Jerk would lead to worst things down the road.

find a personal ballance that you can use to make you feel confortable. The problem with everyone is that in all aspects, they are right and wrong. Whatever you think is a good idea is a good ideas.

It also helps to dress up somewhat snappy, i'm not saying wear a tie, bring flowers and ****, but brush your hair, shave, put on your nice jeans, nice shoes and a nice collar shirt.

thats as far as I can give you any advice... The only thing else I can say is to just be cool and just do it. Don't jump the gun, downplay yourself and give your full attention to the girl and you should be fine.

get into World of Warcraft and join a raiding guild that has female players. once u go out on a raid u can consider it as a date since ur going together to the same place and u can buy her some equipment along the way. its like buying her something then going to the cinema. u can even voice chat with her !!!

Well if I have to stop watching Power Rangers and Toku, then she'd better stop doing whatever it is she does. I dunno, watching soap operas, walking around Topman's shopping for designer label clothes..

I 100% agree.

You're all wrong, everybody knows it's the guys with expensive clothes, fancy cars, anger issues and/or lots of money that get the girls.

Eurgh. There are some exceptions on your statement, you know. Me, for example.

Expensive cars, specifically any 4x4 or Hummer, are not to my taste (and they pollute the city and environment), expensive or expensive-looking clothes make me either vomit or laugh at their faces as seeing men as really, selfish, snobby people; anger/emo issues is just one thing that I'm never going to go out for a date and I don't care for the money.

(Okay, maybe you're right about the money part, but that's just one minor obstacle that I have to overcome.)

That's a girl thing, that's like saying if you can't watch power rangers she can't watch her Brats (if there is a show).
