nice episode im intrigued by the new character "gajari"...It looks like he's gained a little weight, but you can always recognize Zanki for his unusually curly hair. It's nice to see that he's more Zanki than Jirou here. Also someone on a Japanese forum pointed out that both Zanki and Baron are thunder element characters.

Shijima Wataru 四十万ワタル uses the kanji for 4, 10, and 10,000 in his family name. So his family late literally means 400,000.

I was under the impression that Garo being gold was just coincidence and had nothing to do with rank.

His name is clearly a reference to his time spent on Kiva, which was nice.

He's mellowed out a lot in this episode in my opinion, he's much more empathic and has no problem working together with Kouga. I like that he actually thinks about the future of humanity if Makai Knights are completely destroyed.

I liked episode 14 a lot. Was really interesting the thing about Gajari... I wanna know more about he/it. It was really good the mention of Legules and Rin.

And I hope we see more about this new Makai Knight, he received the mark of obedience (not oblivion) so maybe Red mask can control him again. Maybe in episode 15, seems like we are going to see from where and when these two knights know each other.

Still waiting for Rekka appareance.... I hope she shines more this time because all the characters are so powerful right now.

In this village it seems that the student are given a name that they use on the village and each doesn't know the others real name. The episode focus on Kouga and his three friends who are trained by Shijima Wataru. Kouga is given the name Shiro in the village.
It was a good, plot-driven episode. The end is very tragic, I won't say why, you just have to watch it yourself. Also, we finally found out where that charm-thing on the left side of Kouga's coat came from and why Wataru seem to recognizes it in episode 14.
Episode 16: Kouga and Rei kicking ass together again after a long while. It seems that there will be revelation in this episode, considering the title of the episode: "Kamen" (Mask).

Where did you get this? All I know about the novel, is that one of the stories focus on an old scar of Kouga and the mystery behind it. BTW, there are ten stories in the original edition of the novel, but one episode is added to the new edition that was released in 2010.

BTW, I just found out that there is another novel of Garo written by Yuji Kobayashi, called Garo:Yoseki no Wana. It seems to be a story set between White Night and Red Requiem and featured a new knight called Shakunetsu Kishi Yaiba (Burning Knight Yaiba). I wonder if he's going to appear in Makai Senki?
