Future Kamen Rider Adaptations/Remakes

But then that would be a huge dilemma considering that from 2003-2011, Disney had the rights to adapt Sentai and then they would actually drop Kamen Rider because it's claimed to be far too violent and too dark for kids to handle so Adness would have to start off with Dragon Knight (Ryuki) in 2003 (assuming that the US Branch would have already begin it business back then), then whatever because they would have to pick up where Saban had left off and then they would have tried their bests to make the rest of the Heisei Riders future adaptations more of a reference to the Showa-era Riders.

Remember the rumors for "Dragon Rider" aka a possible Ryuki adaptation?

Why would Disney drop another money-maker and just tone it a little down? Not like Power Rangers was formally under the Disney brand , and THAT went a little independent for a little bit.

We are talking about a theoretical here, where the Rider series DID NOT end with Masked Rider ,but continued through when Agito came on the air and ended. I doubt they would want to drop a series that would allow for more money and merchandising after airing for six-seven years with exciting scifi mythos , but instead would just tone it down and be different. Disney , as how they are smart businesspeople most of the time , would see how both series coincide in Japan and air them in tandem , even retconning the MMPR x-over and connecting it, which may be what Disney was planning.

The fact of the manner is that Masked Rider , since it was a one-off during the Saban era , was not seen with much of a reason to continue due to lack of more footage and the gap between the original and "Dragon Rider".

Your point is spot on with the latter about continuing ,but the solution is to wrap the older era up cleanly and start sorta anew after Lost Galaxy, which was the first season to be unrelated to the previous team.

I see. Well, I didn't hear about the rumors of "Dragon Rider" back then, but I can see what might have happened if Disney did planned on adapting Kamen Rider along with the Power Rangers.

'nuff said.

New question, if you were a writer of a Kamen Rider series and if you could rewrite a certain event for the adaptation, how would fit it to the stock footage?

i would pitch the story to a big time Hollywood studio... billed it as "based on a graphic novel"... ground the story as realistic as possible, but still retaining its origin by using "plausible" sci-fi themes and not far-fetched plots... make it gritty and dark... never market it as a children's movie... realistic explosions, less cgi(though the sparks can remain)... make the story more tragic as possible with high stakes on the line...

and lastly have Christopher Nolan direct it for me...:buttrock:

I would go the Robocop/TDK Trilogy route. Dark, bloody as hell and tell the story as needed.

While I'd stay true to the original concept, I would update it to a modern concept or go the Captain America route and make it an era piece in the 70s. Unlike the film series in Japan, I would go international with the story and broaden its scope. My solution would to build the show from combining the best concepts of some of the darker iterations, films and the original manga and the original concept. Would I be afraid to have the creepier aspects of the series while exploring the super heroic parts of it? Nope.

Stunts will be done , less usage of CGI/ usage of practical effects in conjunction and anything that kokowaks said.

I'd write and direct with another person to balance and help channel the ideas into a coherent and awesome film series.

So would that work for either Kabuto, Blade, or whatever Kamen Rider?

Okay, so that would make it into a crossover team-up, or a regular adaptation itself. Good strategy.

While I would love to remake the series to American shores theoretically, because I love the Japanese , why not take multiple ones and rewrite them to be in a coherent universe that while different, shares similarities with its Japanese counterparts?

I would first gear the shows at a 45 minute pace for an hour time-slot. While I don't have any clear plans how it would work, think of VR Troopers done right. They are all from different series , but there's footage which would film them in the same scenarios with any stock footage seamlessly blended in.

Give different series' characters different "cases" that correlate with each other, or sometimes not. Either way, with how footage has been handled these days, you can merge Sentai with Ultraman and have a hardcore series that still looks consistent.

I find the fact that adapting singular series is pretty much dumb when you can just adapt two of three of a similar theme into a season. and actually do something fresh. The main reason for doing so is the fact that in Faiz, there are only three riders while in Kabuto you got seven. While it's more about using the footage up and tapping it alongside a potential for toy sales , its also about the series.

Kabuto& Faiz/Den-O

Hibiki, Blade

Kuuga/Agito-First season: continuation of KRDK.

Kiva/W, Hibiki crossover? Detectives of the Paranormal and of the technological. Butt heads with Kiva and most certainly Hibiki.

Kiva/OOO: Kiva continues on to OOO and W has appearances.

Decade: Crossover event with Saban Era and other series. Think Alien Rangers crossed with Gokaiger.

Fourze: First standalone series , crosses with Den-O. Think of the multiple Rider crossover in the Showa era, but for the 5/7 last chronological Riders in the Japanese Heisei era.Series would be follow up of Masked Rider.

lets not do crossovers on all riders except Kuuga & Agito.

Ryuki failed.

Blade can go next.

course can surely go into a high school drama.

OOO can go into an adaptation of alchemy and Wizard in magic.
