Future Kamen Rider Adaptations/Remakes

No thank you. Masked Rider killed the American market for Kamen Rider for 15 years, and now Dragon Knight as pretty much nailed its coffin, so I would rather someone that cared about the franchise licensed it and released it subbed in the US.

They won't release a Japanese show subbed in the US ever. If anything they would do a dub of it if they wanted to release the Japanese version. An adaptation is a must IMO.

Uh , no it did not. The lack of ANY Kamen Rider stock footage to possibly use did. Seriously at best , you could get a trilogy of Masked rider seasons from Black, RX and all the sub films , the Black films and the crossovers. They were already pushing the envelope when they used Shaider stock footage in VR Troopers , but Kamen Rider had little to nothing in terms of series in the 90's before Kuuga brought the series from the brink. Had they succeeded making a series from any or all of the Kamen Rider film pitches such as Shin, ZO and J, perhaps they would be able to hold the audience at bay until Kuuga was ready to be adapted. But who knows as if the series did get revived through those films , we might not have had Kuuga, but still, you get point.

If Shin , ZO and J had their respective series, we'd be having seasons to 2001 as it would have been released in 1997 , 1998 and 1999 if the series was done as is. But if it had Black used, then Kuuga would have been the next season with no gap in sight.

Since there was no more Kamen Rider footage for Saban to use, they could not continue it, especially since it was on a piss-poor budget as it is. Had it succeeded more to justify an American made season , who knows. But even then, it would have ended in 1998 and left a gap of a year until Kuuga might have been optioned for adaptation. Perhaps if Saban did not waste their moeny on Mystic Knights they could have made another season or adapted Black after it, but it would have needed a bigger budget for newer suits and of course might have been a cooler story. After Leawood, he is on the run from the latest villains to protect his friends and family whom use humans or alien slaves from other worlds as their guinea pigs for their foot soldiers and MOTW.

A remake would be awesome if it loosely followed the Black and RX story while keeping the Sci-fi aspects from the original Masked Rider and expanding and made it a bit darker than the original.

EDIT: While I'd be in favor of subs, I'd rather it be for a series like the Ultra Series which pretty much prides itself in being from Japan. For Kamen Rider, I can olny realsitically see Black RX and Ryuki possibly released subbed, but since RX rides on another series in of itself , it would not be much of a profit in the scheme of things and more of a loss since Black never aired here in the States, although I do admit that Mach baron was released here.... Where's Spectreman at?

The series I'd love see subbed officially would be B-Fighter series and the three series that comprise of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Sure there are fansubs out there, but I'd love to support Toei and be able to get the series without creating a region free copy that has hacked subs with it and the hassle. But that'd won't happen unless we ask in high numbers....

well, I can't argue with that. Shin, ZO, and J had the potential of introducing the Kamen Rider franchise in the 90's but yeah the poor budget cuts were the biggest pain. Oh well, here's to hoping for yet another few years of demanding more Kamen Riders in the US.

I really doubt that Saban would adapt Shin even if he got a series.
The violence would make most of the footage unusable and I don't think that kids would like Shin's design since he looks more like a random MOTW than a superhero.

There's at least 3 key scenes that can be useable for Dex's Super Green Mode Berzerker. Besides, VR Troopers got away with more stuff, but they played them off as robots; so Cyborg Soldier 2 would be treated no different. Not to mention, didn't his head comeback alive after Shin did the "Sub Zero"...?

Super Green should be labeled as Dex's Unstable Form...then "Black" would be his final form.

Why not grab the appeal of the Incredible Hulk, mix it with Venom and directly adapt Shin? Downplay the violent parts and you can seriously have a different and wild series. Essentially useless in human form, he uses wit and his prowess to fight off the organization until he learns how to fight. "The Fly" Hulk, how can you resist that? Fights sometimes in a uniform that resembles ZX, but recolored. Learns to control it and evolves into ZO. The part that Shin is monstrous plays into the narrative with people treating him as a monster .

iv'e been thinking, what if they just skip the tv and adapt it into a movie... saban could just co-produce it with some big studios

a movie in the same vein as THE FIRST... realistic, gritty... with a dark theme/atmosphere same as the dark knight movie...

if its successful then they build up to THE NEXT... but without the stupid/silly forced horror side story... just kill v3's sister and just replace it with a descent riderman story...

it would seem very nice to see our hero brought to life with the same effects to used in movies like iron man...
